I've always had a wonderful experience at Pink Pepper, between the selection of food, the lunch specials, and the quick turnaround when I order; today was not one of those days. I rarely choose not to leave a tip to someone who waits on me, as I have many friends who have gone through hell in the service industry and know their stories of cruel customers. I also rarely bitch and moan about my food, even if the order comes out different than how I ordered it. My friend and I are alotted 1 hour for lunch from our work and we rarely take the full hour, so when we choose to do so, we'd like to think we'll be having a pleasant experience. We were one of 3 parties in the restaurant at the time and ordered immediately as we both knew what we wanted, being seasoned veterans of the restaurant. We both ordered lunch specials: me, chili mint leaves w/ chicken and brown rice, while my friend ordered sweet and sour chicken w/ brown rice; they were both extremely simple meals. We waited 20 minutes, nothing. 30 minutes, still nothing. At 40 minutes and after seeing THREE new tables get their food prior to us, we decided to ask the waitress what the situation was. It turned out she forgot to put in our order and lied to us and told us it would be just another minute. Well after 15 more minutes, we asked to speak with the manager who happened to be out for the day. We were asked if we wanted a free thai iced tea while we waited, which was a bit condescending as we had been there almost an hour with no food. I asked to have 50% taken off the bill as I'm not a jackass and didn't want to ask for a free meal; we were given $3 off our total bill. I'll definitely come back here for the food, but you can be sure I'll be speaking to the manager when he comes in tomorrow about getting a free meal or two in the future. Normally, I'd give 5 stars, but it lost 2 for the poor service. Hopefully, I'm treated better next time I go. UPDATE: The manager was extremely nice and apologized for our experience yesterday and offered us a free lunch if we came back today, which we did. I tried the Panang Curry w/ Chicken and my friend Justin tried the Terryaki Chicken, both were lunch specials. The food was delicious and the service was great as always. Thank you Pink Pepper for being the awesome Thai spot that I knew you were all along. We'll be back for more soon!

Used to come here for lunch when I worked in the Hollywood area. I remember Pink Pepper quite fondly. Really good lunch specials and they were also able to accomodate our crazy, huge group. It's not the most authentic Thai food, but it comes close enough. You can't go wrong with most of the noodle and rice dishes. I'm picky when it comes to curry dishes. It's not bad here. Not great, but not bad either.

This is my kind of place. Off the beaten path. Nothing fancy. Just great food at a reasonable price! Outdoor dining available where old Hollywood meets new Hollywood. There are million dollar condos across from a pawn shop and poe dancing classes in the studio next door! The Panang Duck Curry With green peas made me very happy!

Terrible bussiness. Small portions, no rice, not even a fortune cookie! Way over priced, food was alright, but I will never patronize this establishment again. I will highly recommend you rethink you dinner plans, I used to enjoy eating and the pink pepper just ruined that for me.

First off, let me just say that this bad review is not driven by the taste or quality of the food but rather for myt horrendous experience ordering online. BEWARE!!!! Last night, I ordered online. Got my confirmation email. Waited for my food. And waited. And waited. Since I live about 2 blocks away (I know, I'm lazy) it usually takes about 30-40 minutes for delivery. After an hour and 10 minutes, I called to check in. No answer. I was forwarded to a message telling me that I should call back when they are open. I tried calling a few more times over the next 15 minutes to see if someone would answer. Nothing. I assumed that they closed early and my food was never coming. So, at this point, I got in my car to head to In N Out since it was past 10 pm and I was starving. I drove by Pink Pepper on the way and saw that it was in fact open. I went in and net-net, they had never filled my order, were too busy to answer the phone and said that about 5 orders had fallen through the cracks. They were apologetic, quickly filled my order and then told me that they needed my credit card again. I'm hoping that I won't end up getting charged twice for this fiasco. My advice is to either call in your order or go and eat at the restaurant. I'd never take the chance again of ordering online. If I had stayed and waited, it I would have been waiting all night with no indication from Pink Pepper that they were never filling my order. In the end, the food was good but not good enough for this much aggravation and starvation.

Horrible service! We ordered online for take out. They sent us a confirmation email. An hour after we ordered, we called. They said that the kitchen is close and they didn't get our email. We got the email but they didn't get ours!!! It's 11pm and everything is close. And guess what, he offered to give us a free egg roll or Thai iced tea the next time we order, the nerve. Thank you but no thank you! And the food is not even that good!

The Pepper's location is perfect for escaping Hollywood Blvd. while still kicking it near the walk of fame. Service was passable, standard Thai food, and relaxing atmosphere. We were the only ones dining on a Saturday afternoon and after entering through the patio gate Ho-wood kinds of melts into the background. Our waiter wafted by the table several times through the meal to do his modicum service-wise. I went with the cashew and roasted chili tofu, it was labeled spicy. Did it end up bringing the spice? A bit: there was a mild heat by the end of the dish, but no "my-mouth-is-on-fire-water-isn't-doing-jack" reaction. The kitchen was generous with the cashews and the extra sauce could be sopped up with the brown rice. (FYI: you gotta pay for a side of rice, but at least there's the option of going with jasmine or brown.) The Tofu Delight starter was fried triangles of the stuff served with a sweet dipping sauce. This didn't overwhelm me, but the tofu was crisp without being soaked in oil. More crushed peanuts please! Overall the comida at the Pepper tends to tread on average territory, but if you need to be near tourist-central this is a great reprieve within walking distance from the masses and exorbitant prices of Hollywood/Highland. I particularly liked that you had to enter an al fresco courtyard area through a carved wooden gate. High five to PPTC for having veg items on the menu (and I mean real veg items, not that hidden fish/shrimp-sauce BS some places try to sell you).

Lunch here was good. I had the Green Curry, and it was satisfying and delicious. Nothing spectacular, but a solid choice for Thai dining in the Hollywood area. They didn't have a Pad Thai lunch special, which was odd to me as that tends to be a popular menu item. The Thai Iced Tea was also good; my friend let me try some of his. I noticed a sign indicating Free Parking- although my friends and I walked so I don't know any more than that. Thought that was worth mentioning, though, as parking can be a headache in this part of town.

YUMMMMM! After waiting about an hour and 45 minutes for lunch delivery one day, I told myself "no more Pink Pepper for you!" but I just couldn't stop myself. I really like their food (fresh, good quality, good quantity, decent priced yummyness).

I have always loved this place. Great service, helpful staff. I always get yellow curry where every I go and this place has the best. Killer.

My Experience: Lady was very short and mean on the phone. Had a very unpleasant attitude. I had to ask for the total before I got off the phone. Food arrived 1-hour later and we were about 3 blocks away from restaurant. Food was OK, but not worth dealing with the lady and the long wait. Bottom Line: Avoid if possible.

Such shockingly bad service that it pains me to even give this place one star. The waitress made a sour face at every request, like we were bothering her (even when we were merely trying to order a bottle of wine). Fish that was especially requested to be well-cooked was served nearly raw. And then while we were still eating the waitress brought the bill and said rudely "Can you pay now?" to which my boyfriend replied "Can I finish eating?" The hostess came up and said "Pay now, she has to leave." I mean, even if she had a hot date she was late for, she still needed to do her job! I don't think I've ever had service anywhere so overtly rude. Horrible.

I work near Pink Pepper and this is one of the best places to eat around the neighborhood. The food is excellent and everyone I've taken there seems to enjoy themselves. I first tried it many years ago but wasn't hooked and didn't go back. But having my office move in around the corner meant I soon needed to try the local selections. Several lunch specials are especially good as are the entrees. Worth a visit if you are in the area for a movie and want dinner.

Went here after going to Reanimac to get my computer serviced, and it is the best Thai that I've had in Hollywood. I will stop here every time I'm near. Excellent Fried Rice, side grilled vegetable, and Lad Na! :)

Pretty good Thai food. I like the chicken satay and vegetable salad w/ tofu. The salad comes topped with fresh pineapple, which is a cute touch. My only gripe is that every single time I've come in, the staff always seems a bit frazzled - even when the place is empty. I haven't tried the real Thai-ish food, but my foodie boyfriend says the pineapple fried rice and coconut shrimp are bomb, so I trust him. For a place that's walking distance from both my work and home, I can't hate.

OMG the best Thai food I've ever had! The Thai iced coffee is delicious and the food amazing! My boyfriend and I love going there. The service is just ok, but the food makes everything worth it.

I love Thai food. I eat at a lot of Thai restaurants and definitely gravitate towards more authentic flavored restaurants. My husband works in the area and we decided to have a lunch date at Pink Pepper. Neither one of us had ever been there or knew anything about it but thought we'd check it out. We couldn't be happier. We ordered Tom Kha Kai, Yellow Curry, and Beef Green Curry and they were all delicious. Really fresh ingredients, the veggies weren't overcooked, and top-quality chicken breast meat was used and not overcooked, either. The rice was an additional cost, but it seems like that is becoming much more typical in all restaurants lately. The yellow curry was some of the best I've ever had. The perfect combination of sweet and spicy. I'm still fantasizing about it. Our waiter was awesome. Totally on top of things. He took our order quickly and our food was brought surprisingly fast and completely accurate. The food was as authentically flavored as it possibly could be using American ingredients. I love this place and I can't wait to go back.

Pretty good thai food but nothing to rave about. It's your standard thai place with standard thai dishes, not a huge menu to choose from but for a quick bite or take out, i would recommend. Service can be somewhat slow even when they are not busy but the food comes out fast!

I came here for dinner with some girlfriends. It was yummy! The highlights were the papaya salad, chicken curry and crab fried rice. You can taste the crab in the fried rice! Oh and the lemon drop martini is super good. You cannot taste the alcohol, which can be a good or bad thing, lol. This place is literally right next door to a club called MyHouse, on the corner of Hollywood and La Brea, you can't miss it. Parking is right behind the restaurant,

Best Thai delivery in the city. I've actually never had a sit down meal in Pink Pepper, but we order from them frequently. Delivered items are always HOT, delicious, and beautifully prepared. Delivery person is always courteous and reasonably prompt. Online ordering is also a nice feature.

I've been going here since I worked at Stephen Cannell across the street in the early eighties. I still love it. The people are always friendly, the food is always good. It's not cheap and you don't get huge portions but it's top notch and not stupid expensive. The restaurant and patio are classy and comfortable at the same time, so it's good for a date or for just hanging out. It's sort of industrial/loftish with the open pipe ceiling, but with nice colors and beautiful buddhas. We usually walk over or have them deliver to our apartment, which is super fast because we're pretty close. And they take American Express. We're especially fond of: Yellow curry chicken - with giant chunks 'o chicken breast, big ol' chunks of potato and big hunks of carrot over white rice Tom kha gai - chicken coconut soup. If you are on a date you really have to get soup in the cool flaming Thai soup pot. Angel wings - awesome stuffled chicken wings. Pad Thai - your basic good pad Thai. Chicken chow mein - I know, weird, right? But I was't in the mood for Pad Thai, and Pad Thai never really reheats very well. The chow mein was really good. Green beans with roasted garlic - freaking delicious. Try not to eat the whole thing all at once. Same some for later. Sate - Good, the usual. Pineapple rice kicks ass with two crab claws, shrimp and chicken. I also like their small basic salad with a really good sweet creamy salad dressing. Love their mango with sticky rice for dessert. And I just like giving my business to such nice people. If you're not from around these parts, the Pink Pepper is just a block south of the Beatles' and Elvis Presley's stars on Hollywood Blvd. They're on the little island at the southeast corner of Hollywood Blvd. & La Brea Ave. behind the Silver Four Ladies of Hollywood Gazebo - the Eiffel Tower canopy at the beginning of the "Walk of Fame." The four caryatids are statues of actresses Mae West, Dorothy Dandridge, Anna May Wong and Dolores Del Rio. Go to this website on your cell phone for a pic of the gazebo and put type in the name of the celebrity's star you want to see, and it will tell you where to find it. Or find out who the person on that star at your feet is. Pretty cool. hwof.mobi/?switcher=true

My Husband and I were visiting LA over the President's Day weekend and were staying on the Sunset Strip. We did a search for thai food came across the pink pepper with average reviews, not knowing much about the place we decide to go there and were pleasantly surprised... Just a corner away from the Hollywood Bovld there was this quite and nicely done place. We ordered Panang Curry and Garlic Lovers Chicken with Thai Iced tea. Both dishes were excellent and in good quantity. The curry was very balanced with hotness (coz had ordered the max of hot!) it was not overwhelming with hotness. In the end we were happy that we went there:)

Just ordered the Panang curry lunch special w shrimp-- was one of the best panang curries i've ever had-- just the right amount of spice, just the right amount of sweetness, with perfectly cooked shrimp and lots of cabbage and lime leaves. i was really surprised at how good it was, actually. It was great. Delivery was quick, 35 minutes. Lunch special is 7.95 seven days a week, great price, comes w rice, egg roll and salad, generous portion of curry-- most places only have a lunch special M-F. Also ordered the thai iced tea and egg rolls, both also good. A little too much ice in the thai iced tea. In the past I've ordered pad thai, green curry, and chicken satay. Always good. Just very reliable thai delivery for a good price. But this time they really raised the bar. I would recommend for quick thai delivery in the Hollywood area. Never had a bad meal from this place. Go for the Panang Curry, definitely.

this place is damn good! just ordered a green curry, and it is delectable. very spicy, just like i asked for. there's a difference between a run of a mill green curry and a delectable one, and this is it. subtle flavors. wonderful array of vegetables. soft plump tofu. mmmmmmmmm.

Stopped in after a long day of Hollywood Blvd touring and tried a few plates: the shrimp dumplings, thai iced tea, and pad thai with chicken and shrimp were all pretty good. I wouldn't go out of my way for the Pink Pepper, but overall the food wasnt bad.

The atmosphere is very charming and the service was fast and friendly. The food was very tasty and for lunch, the portions were satisfying. The only negative comment I really have is that they do not offer free refills for the fountain soda drinks. But I won't let that stop me from going back. It's a great place for lunch!

This place is great. I go here about 3-5 times a week for lunch and they have a good variety to choose from. I haven't had a bad experience yet. Although it can get kinda busy around 1 for lunch time.. but thats expected no matter where you go. The workers who work there are nice as well, and remember that i always like the chili paste.. O yea, i would suggest trying the pineapple fried rice as well!!!!

Let me start out by saying: I love Thai food. I eat it a lot, and I've been to a lot of good Thai places. Pink Pepper happens to be literally across the street and around the corner from my new apartment, and so I've eaten there a few times. Is it authentic? No. Is it the best Thai food I've had? No. It's pretty decent, and that's why I'm giving it 3 stars. I've tried the pad see ew (except it's called something else- "Soy Sauce Noodles". I'm pretty sure that doesn't translate into "authentically delicious" in any language.), the Pad Kee Mow (again, not the name in the restaurant, I believe they call it "spicy noodle"), and the panang curry, which tasted basically of peanuts and coconut milk. Portion size is OK. I'm not that big, but I polished off my "soy sauce noodles" in spite of the super appetizing name of the dish. Normally I have leftovers. Is that good? Eh, it means next time I should get an appetizer and spend more money, I suppose.

When I checked out their website I loved that they offer online ordering. They have a great menu and online ordering is easy to navigate. When I finished my order the estimated delivery time was 30-45 minutes. This place is only a couple of blocks away from where I lived and I figured it would arrive within the hour as I'm used to Thai places not providing the fastest deliver service. An hour later when my food had still not arrived I called to see how things were coming along and got an answering service on the first two calls. The third call however was answered and I was informed they were still preparing the meal and I could expect it in a half hour. (I'm pretty certain they had not started it yet.) The curry was soupy, they added jasmine rice that I did not order and the pad Thai didn't taste right. They also sent iced brewed tea instead of the Thai iced tea that I had ordered. No utensils or napkins were provided. I'm really not sure how this place is rated so well on here. Maybe its better if you eat there and they just suck at delivery but I will not be ordering from this place again. If anyone knows of a good Thai delivery restaurant in the Hollywood area please let me know. *almost begging*

Ordered the Teriyaki Salmon for lunch and it was perfectly cooked. Most places overcook Salmon and these guys got it right on the nose. Delightful.

Came here for dinner before going to the Magic Castle. My friend is Thai so she ordered for our group. I really don't know what we had, but it was very good. There is a chicken in a pinkish curry that has just the right amount of chili to make you sniffle, but so good that you keep eating it.

I love the food here!! So fresh and delicious!! The Pad Thai and the Chicken and Noodles are some of my fav dishes!! My biggest gripe though is for as often as I order delivery I only live 5 min away and have to order more than I want just to make the min delivery fee..

Best Pad Thai and Tom Yum for sure! Portions are really small, though

I used to work across the street from this place so when I went to go meet my old co-worker for lunch today, we naturally came here. Not my first choice for a Thai restaurant but it was in close proximity. My favorite dish here is the Beef Panang Curry. I have to say - Thai people make the best curry ever! They have it as a lunch special so I usually get that unless I'm really hungry and I want more curry. Another one of my favorites is the Beef Garlic Lover. That comes as a lunch special too. The lunch specials come with a salad and an egg roll. If you're craving seafood, the Curry Salmon is fantastic. For dessert, get the Mango Sticky Rice. I gave this place a 3-star review because it is overpriced, the portions are small, and the service sucks. Don't get me wrong, the food is good and I love their curry but travel about a mile east of La Brea and you'll find much better Thai restaurants in Thaitown, like Sanamluang and Palms, at more reasonable prices. Pink Pepper is trying too hard to be an upscale Thai restaurant just because it's in a good Hollywood location. On the service - when I used to work across the street, I usually placed my order with them over the phone. I don't know if the guy who normally answers is deaf and so speaks very loudly or he's yelling at me. They also take very long with orders most of the time. One time, my friend had ordered delivery from them. They took 45 minutes and when she opened her bag after the delivery guy left, she found out they gave her the wrong order. When she called them to get her order right, they yelled at her and complained that it would take another hour to deliver the correct order. So she waited and finally it came and the delivery guy had the nerve to ask for the original order back. What were they planning to do with it? Reuse that meal for someone else's order? I just don't understand why they acted as though my friend did anything wrong. Overall, not that impressive. I grew up eating Thai food, having lived a block away from Hollywood Thaitown so trust me when I say that you are better off skipping this place. But if you're in this area and you can't travel a bit further, then maybe consider it.

Food was very good. And service was good. What I did not like was the 18% gratuity that was added to the bill. There were 4 of us. Is this the norm in California? I have never experienced this before. Also a first -- they charged for each bowl of rice.

I'm thai, Cambodian , Chinese so I'm gonna be super critical. This is based from the 4 items I ordered. Chicken panang was good. (4). Papaya salad not authentic but I understand the westerner adaptation on it. It was still a hair on the sweet side. (3) from me but others I'm sure will think higher. Pad kee Mao was good. (5). Spicy or basil fried rice was good (4.5). Over all I would say this place is 4, but I rate 5 because I almost didn't try ordering after reading the delivery issues. They told me 45 min. So I said yes compared to toi saying 1 to 1 1/2 hrs. They end up knocking in 25 mins. Food still hot n delicious. Congrats! U got me to spend my busy time that i dont have to write this review.

This hidden gem is just off the beaten Hollywood tourist path. The decor is modern Asian, classy but cozy. The food was outstanding. I was there well after the lunch hour and the clientele seemed to be locals familiar with the staff and menu. This is a good sign. I think I was the only tourist at the time. The mood music was unobtrusive and pleasant. A great alternative to the chain and fast-food restaurants catering to the Hollywood tourist.

Nearby and tucked away on a very busy street...Pink Pepper still feels like its far away from the hustle and bustle of incredibly touristy nearby Hollywood and Highland... Nicely lit and decorated, we come here a lot. Warning: I live literally walking distance from here and whatever reason delivery will always take an hour or longer and they will tell you that over the phone. Always easier (and faster) to just to dine-in house. Absolute faves: Pineapple Curry (with shrimp) Pad Thai (chicken) ( a dish i judge EVERY Thai restaurant on) Black Pepper and Onion Shrimp They also have a very affordable lunch menu which is a HUGE plus. Fresh ingredients and layers of flavor. Our neighborhood go to Thai joint.

Ok... I Love the food here. My favorite is the Crab fried Rice Yummy and there stuffed Chicken Wings are tasty too :-) But as everyone know by now, I'm a Stickler for good service. The waiters and waitresses are pretty good BUT the Manager is a JERK! He's rude and inconsiderate of customer service. He got into an argument with this lady who has been a customer for years who had said she didn't ask for egg in her rice and could they please make her another plate. Well the manager guy said no, only if she paid for both orders and I thought that wasn't cool. He cursed at her and said she didn't ask for 'no egg' and she could leave. CRAZY CRAZY CRAZY! They need to leave him in the back and close the doors.

Long story short: Nice lunch spot with solid yet slightly pricey food. They don't allow dogs. Long story long: After a nice morning hike at Runyan Canyon, my friend and I decided to come here for lunch. A friend of hers had told her about this place and after a few minutes, eventually found it. Somewhat of a slightly unexpected place for a Thai restaurant. I mean, this is right around the corner from Grauman's Chinese Theater and Hollywood & Highland, instead of Thai town. *shrug* There is a public parking structure in the back behind the restaurant, and apparently this restaurant validates. The space is simple yet sleek and on the verge of contemporary. They had a covered patio almost as large and the indoor seating area. It was a nice day out and decided to grab a seat on the patio instead of inside. Plus, my friend had her dog with her and had me ask if she could bring her dog in while she went to go park. However, they wouldn't even let her bring her dog on the patio, so she had to leave her in the car with the window cracked. It's not like this place was busy or anything. Minus points for that. Our server came by and we ordered waters as we looked over the menu. Offerings included typical Thai dishes and a couple of not so typical Thai dishes. After a couple of minutes, we decided to share 3 dishes: spicy beef salad, pad woo sen, and the lamb curry. The salad came out and looked pretty good with lots of veggies and a good amount of meat. The lime dressing on there was good and it had a pretty nice subtle spicy kick to it. I would order this again. The pad woo sen (clear thin noodles) with chicken and shrimp, tomatoes, onions, beansprouts, and eggs was good too. I could have gone for more. Probably my favorite was the lamb curry. The meat wasn't gamey and was tender, and the curry itself was really good, well seasoned with a complex flavor that I come to expect of curries. Service was cool. We didn't have any problems per se. My only real quip I had with the meal was the extra charge for rice. At first we didn't realize it was going to be an extra charge, but when she asked us how many orders, we realized it was extra for rice. I mean, seriously? Who doesn't eat curry with rice? It's understood that rice will be eaten with curry, so why be an a-hole and charge extra for rice? Ugh.... My next quip was that for the portions, even though everything was pretty good, were the prices. Between the 2 of us, after tip and everything, lunch cost about $50. I would expect that price for maybe dinner, but not lunch. If the prices were better, I might come back, otherwise, I'm just gonna go to Thai town.

Holy crap! I was blown away with this place's food!! I've eaten at MANY thai places in the area and decided to try this one out on a whim and WOW! The panag was out-of-this-world! It comes with green peas, red and green peppers, and jalapenos, and the chicken was ridiculously tender and flavorful. Also had the tofu pad thai and it, too was phenomenal. I mean, this food was so good I literally wanted to go back and tell the chef how amazing our dinner was. I've been talking about this place ever since! (If you're still talking about how good the food was at a restaurant three weeks later, I think you just might be on to something!). Good prices, convenient location, free parking, PHENOMENAL FOOD! Definitely check it out!

I order delivery from this thai joint pretty often. Things I enjoy: Crab Fried Rice - pretty decent and yummy Green Curry Fried Rice - delicious Stuffed Chicken Wings - Yum Yellow Curry - Delicious Panang Curry - I love Panang Curry and this definitely hits the spot Beef Salad - delicious Tom yom Kha - One of my favorite in the cities Pad See Wee - Not my favorite, I've had better It's convenient and has decent thai food, so it's my go to for thai delivery. Been to the restaurant once and the decor is thai trendy I guess. But I usually opt out for delivery. - Girl on the phone is kind of rude sometimes when ordering delivery. I changed my mind about a delivery choice, but she wouldn't let me cause she said she sent it to the kitchen already. She could have gotten off her lazy ass and walked over to the kitchen to tell them they changed the order. Oh well, I guess i will have a lot of left overs.

In my honest opinion, Pink Pepper is, by far, the best Thai food in LA. I have been going here for several years (15 to be exact) and they have never let me down. The Pad Thai is amazing and the Red Curry is to die for! Don't forget to have a tasty Thai iced tea --- and for dessert... omg... the fried bananas and coconut ice cream are killer!!! Pink Pepper is number one all the way! Do yourself a favor and go! :)

I work really close to Pink Pepper, so we tend to go their quite often for lunch. My co-workers like the place, but I think it's a bit overpriced and greasy. I ordered the curry chicken once and it barely had any chicken! I've also ordered the noodles in soy sauce (or something like that) and my tongue felt gross with all the MSG they put in! Pad thai is kinda oily too. I do have to say though.. their Thai iced tea isn't too shabby. As far as service goes, I never expect too much from Asian restaurants (being Asian myself), so the service here doesn't surprise me. They're not rude, but they're definitely not what you expect from the prices they charge. They're not even THAT busy during lunch, but I always feel like the waiters/esses are too overwhelmed by the number of customers they have. *shrugs* oh well.

Yeahhhh Baby!! This place Rocks my Socks off!!!! Yummy, Yummy, Yummy Food. Catering is so easy over there. You tell Tony how many people you have, what kind of food you are interested in and he will hook it up. Give him your budget, and he will excel. He'll even throw in some Extras. It's so easy!!! Tony will make sure enough food is there. Everything is on time, just what I like. Our office loves Pink Pepper! It feels so healthy and tastes so good.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! They can take order but can't fill them and lie about delivery and never call back after multiple calls. They suck!

Hands down best thai food in LA. Been eating here since 1992! Seen them go through some changes some really good (redecorating) some not so good (service in house and delivery has had it's ups and downs, and portions have gotten about 30%smaller with prices getting about %15 higher). I think it's a great place to take a date...sort of. The restraunt itself is nice. The area directly around it can be a little gross depending on what bums have been sleep in the nearby alleyway etc...you get the idea. Food wise, you can't go wrong....everything is really good, although I recomend the pad si yu, pad thai (is freaking awesome), and the BBQ beef ribs (also freaking awesome), and the eggrolls...their sweet and sour sauce is the best I've ever tasted. So, I take away one star for the little ups and downs, but foodwise (portions aside) they have never made me a bad tasting dish, I've never been food poisoned here, and I've never tasted thai food anywhere else that can top the pink pepper.

***Great, fresh Thai food, good service, excellent fried rice!*** I've been here twice. The pineapple raisin fried rice is to die for! And the chicken fried rice is very good and their salmon teriyaki (very fresh!). I wasn't happy about the fact that the 2nd time I went I ordered filet of sole and they didn't have it, nor the duck, but nonetheless, the salmon teriyaki was amazing! The side with skin was crispy and delicious, and the sauce was just right.

The food is about a 3. I really like that you can order online. But the service is TERRIBLE. After ordering food online, I called the restaurant over an hour and 15 minutes after hitting send. They said that the driver had left 10 minutes before and my food would be there shortly. I WAS STARVING. 25 minutes later - an hour and 40 minutes after ordering, my food still hadn't arrived. When I called about my order, they said the driver had come back to the restaurant! I won't be ordering from pink pepper ever again.

I am a delivery junkie and up until the last month probably spent a few hundred dollars here a month ordering a few times a month for our family. The food is actually pretty good, but the service is appalling. They are downright rude to us. We tried just using the online feature to mitigate this problem, but other service issues required that we interface with their team. After an incident with our food not showing up for hours and the owner / manager not calling us back and being yelled at to be patient, we continued to call and order in stupidly thinking maybe the occasions of bad service were exceptions. But, the service issues continued. Not sure if they changed staff members or ownership but we can't order from here anymore, as unfortunate as it is. They have zero gratitude for our ongoing patronage and loyalty.

This is THE place for lunch in Hollywood. The food is fresh and authentic and the price-point is great for what you get. The locals all know about it, and the tourists rarely find it since it's around the corner and tucked away. (So, if you are a savvy Tourist reading this review - you're welcome!)

I love the "pad see yew" (listed as "soy sauce noodles" on the menu) here, and this place always delivers consistent quality in their food. It's a cute, nice-looking place -- not divey like some places in Thai Town. I docked one star, only because their thai iced tea and thai iced coffee are both a little too sweet. (It would be cool if you could add the sugar yourself.) I like the name of the place too!

I don't know if it's because there was a rush of people or that we were seated in the nook seat that it took forever to get our bottle of screw top wine to the table. The food was good, I wish coconut shrimp came in a bigger portion - 4 seems a little sad. The jungle curry and pad thai were good, but nothing I'm super impressed with. Fried banana dessert was.. eh. I like the places that serves fried banana spring rolls instead. This is tastier than most places down the street in the tourist traps, but I won't go out of my way for it.

5 stars for the yellow chicken curry... the best i've had in LA. soy sauce noodle are pretty good too. Prices are very reasonable for the quality of food, their delivery service is awesome and pretty fast. Even though the restaurant itself its very nicely decorated with a nice anbience, the customer service is not the best.

I've passed by this place a few times on my way to Tiago and always wondered what kind of delectable delights were hidden in this place. Wandered in one night in the mood for a Thai adventure and I was instantly won over by the decor. The restaurant was immaculately decorated with beautiful rose gold hues that gives you a feeling of warmth and romance. I sat down and although I noticed green curry on the menu, I couldn't help but notice the poached curry salmon trying to seduce me. I had to have it. Likes: 1. Decor - it gets the vibe just right. Not trendy or cheeky or cheesy. I think it makes a great date restaurant. There is outdoor seating and indoor seating available with booths and tables. I noticed that there were 2 booths that appear to be more cozy and intimate than the rest. I suggest you use those on date-night. 2. Food - the poached salmon was the bomb. The first bite literally melted in my mouth. The portion was large enough for sharing, which is again... great for date purposes. 3. Dessert - they have sticky sweet rice with mango available seasonally. Unfortunately, this was not the right season. Good thing they still had green tea ice cream and coconut ice cream available though. I opted for the coconut, and I would have to say it was the perfect finish to a meal. Light, mildly sweet to cleanse the palate... with a portion just large enough to satisfy but not overwhelm. Dislikes: 1. Bar. It is not a full bar. The drink menu is all they have to offer. I ordered the lemon drop, and delicious as it was... it didn't even make me blush. Things worth noting: 1. Free parking is available... validated I think. Where? I have no idea. I walked there. 2. No take Discover Card.... curses! Foiled again! Fantastic food experience hands down. It's just the weak-sauce drinks that knocks down the rating from a 5-star to a 4-star.

This will be a sad (and rare) review for me to write. I have been ordering food for delivery here for 12 years...typically at least once a week. Tonight was so ridiculous that I will never order again. I placed my order online (which I've done many times...always seemed to take a bit longer, but the ease of it was worth a few moments' delay). Per the email order confirmation, my order was placed at 6:30 p.m. with an estimated delivery time of 30-45 minutes. First call to inquire was at 7:26 p.m. I waited on hold for 5 minutes, then hung up and called back at 7:32. I was told my order was "on its way," and that there was "bad traffic" for the driver. My third call was at 7:52 p.m., at which time I was again told that my order was on its way, and that the driver had many deliveries to do. My final (and I do mean FINAL) call was at 8:17 p.m., approaching two hours after my order. It was then that I was informed I had no order. Frustrated, I asked why I had been told that my order was on its way. No good answer. The man re-took my order, then passed me off to someone else. The person with whom I next spoke was aggressive and combative. He said that I had never ordered, never called, and that no one had ever told me my food was on its way. Despite my ability to speak about my call times and conversations with tremendous specificity, he claimed none of it had ever happened. I terminated the call. I wish they had just apologized for the long wait and promised to send someone right over. Instead, I will never put myself through ordering from Pink Pepper again...how does ordering Thai food turn into getting accused of lying about ordering/calling/discussing Thai food? Ugh.

We don't live far from the Pepper, just right up the road. So pending on which direction we're going we'll pass it from time to time going home. Each and every time, we'll look at each other and say, "We need to go there and check it out." Finally, we stepped up, walked out and tried it out. No idea what would we find. Talk about getting that really good kind of surprise. You know that one were you stumble on something and can't believe how you never knew about it before, but it's so great you have to keep going back and cant' get enough of it, kinda thing? That's what my girl and I got. We both had a cup of soup - Her: Tom Yum Koong with Shrimp. I was privy to a couple tastes. Gotta say, man, it was damn good. I loved the lemongrass note at then, really felt like it cleaned your pallet after each bite. Me? I went with the old-reliable-gotta-try-it-if-it's-on-the-menu Won Ton Soup. Without a doubt one of the best variations of it I've ever had. I love it when they feed with some veggies, and other things aside from the won ton and broth. Here they had the celery and what made the soup: bbq pork strips. After eating those I wanted to order a whole plate of it. So good, both soups. For the entrée we split the Pad Thai. It was a safe choice that we could split, and be filled, along with being relatively inexpensive. I now will probably never order anything different from there again. Oh, wow! Unbelievably good. Never was I a huge pad thai fan, this place just made me a believer. Was actually dreaming about today - that good! The place itself is in a nice location for us, within walking distance. The decor of the place is very nice, clean, and fairly subtle. The service was very nice, and on top of things. Only thing that I guess I could take issue was that it did take a little bit of time from the soup to entrée. I like to have some time in between, but was just a little longer than preferred. Other than that, this place was out of sight! I wonder if they deliver....man I could be in trouble if they do.

While I have an open-minded palate, Thai food is not one of my more favorite cuisines and to enjoy it, I definitely have to be in the mood for it. The Pink Pepper, however, is a gem. Its location is the perfect balance between having close proximity to the H-wood scene, but just far enough to get away from it. My bf's buddy took us here, having raved about the yellow curry chicken and dubbing it "the best" by far. I'd have to agree with him. Succulent, tender, and a glory in the mouth. My favorite dish here. Also good are the sweet and sour beef, pineapple fried rice, and teriyaki salmon. All done with a perfect balance of spices, not too striking on the palate. The establishment itself has traditional Thai ornaments with an LA-elegance flare. A great place to eat to fill the gills before getting the night started.

We were jet lagged and hungry when we stumbled into the pink pepper. it was crowded and took us prompting the hostess to seat us. The food was not that great. decent enough to eat but nothing to write home about. the service took what seemed like forever in my jet lagged mind. probably won't return unless the zombies have taken over and it's the only place with zombie free pad thai

I live in a sea of great thai food here in Hollywood. Arguably amongst the best in the US. From Jiltada, Sanamluang, Toi, Palms, Ruben Pair...etc. They all seem to be in East Hollywood with the exception of Toi. This is the best thai I've had in the middle of Hollywood. In order to stand out you must have great value and good prices. This place does both. I first tried them after a friend recommeded the Chicken Noodle here. I placed my order through GrubHub on my Iphone. For $20.02 total w/o tip my lazy ass got the Chicken Noodle and an order of chicken yellow curry. Both were great. The Chicken Noodle lived up to the hype. The noodles were perfectly cooked and the I even picked up a sudden Umami moment as I was eating the noodles. They have slivers of chicken along with egg and lettuce. Tons of good flavaro. The Curry came with 2 huge chunks of potato and carrot. Kinda weird but it worked. I now cook my own curry in this fashion becuase It holds up under heat for a long time allowing the curry flavor to come through more. The chicken they used was breast meat and was moist and delicious.

Hadn't been in almost 10 years. Why? I don't know. Made plans with my hockey buddies who also work in Hollywood to meet up there a month ago but it was closed down because apparently one of their staff was shot and killed....yikes. Well we went this week and it was as good as ever. Super quick, super nice, well priced, what was supposed to be hot was hot, what was supposed to be cold was cold, everything was swell. I'm pretty sure Brad Pitt was there too, alone..well sort of. There were paparazzi all over outside. Celeb cred and street cred...they don't need my review!

Pink Pepper is a great eatery to have near the office...while they offer a variety of dishes, their menu is pretty simple and the pricing is comfortable on the wallet *smile* My favorite dishes are the Spicy Beef (or Shrimp) Salad and the Spicy Spinach (with Chicken). Once, during lunch, my party was seated outside and the service was a little slow, but for the most, I've had favorable experience w/regards to the service.

Let's start with we were told after being screwed over "NO MANAGER ON DUTY"?!! If you have business and you're ordering for your staff BEWARE! These people do not care if they screw up your order or entire meal. They shorted us on our order, while half the food got cold they insisted we wait for the rest of order and pay more, then refused to give a refund on the food we were not going to eat. We asked to speak to a manager and they told us one was not on duty! First a waitress who spoke little English advised us that she was the only person to tal too then rudely hung up stating she had "a table she needed to get too". Next call landed us with the person who claimed to be the delivery driver. He also could barely communicate. Back to the horrid experience... The food was already cold let alone wait for more to make it a full meal and when we asked to get it refunded they refused! THEY RIPPED US OFF! My whole staffed starved while I re-ordered from another (and better) Thai restaurant and paid once again for a new meal... but at least they got a hot plate from somewhere else! Once again: DELIVERED WRONG ORDER REFUSED TO HANDLE THE SITUATION REFUSED RETURN OF FOOD FOR REFUND TOLD NO MANAGER ONSITE COLD FOOD BAD SERVICE RUDE STAFF BARELY ENGLISH SPEAKING The list goes on but BEWARE, this restaurant can RUIN your meal plans and will not care they did. That's just terrible to do.

I find that a lot of restaurants in Hollywood are a hit or miss and there definitely isn't a limited supply of Thai food, but I found that the Pink Pepper was a hit. Very tastefully decorated with an elegant feel, this little place right off of the main drag has tasty food for you-can't-beat-em prices. We had a range from Tom Yum soup which was just spicy enough and had good flavor although I found the veggies undercooked and a bit bland. Dumplings were tasty and on par, the house salad is HUGE and the peanut dressing is sweet and thick. My friend had the fried rice which was savory but the exceptional dishes we had were the pad thai (super awesome) and BBQ chicken which was out of this world. Overall, delicious, easy on the wallet and very pleasant experience, oh and free 2 hour parking!!! A must in that crazy busy area.

Went here with mistah eff et. al, and were pleasantly surprised, it being located just blocks from Mann's theater. We had the pink pepper rolls which exploded with basily goodness, chicken pad thai, the green curry (chicken), and the thai fired rice. Very good meal. And the thai tea was perfect.

I am currently at my desk at work having just picked up some Pink Pepper a few minutes ago. I got the Chicken Curry lunch special, and first off... it smells GOOD. Secondly, the curry is a lovely yellow colour ;) And now I'm eating it. WOW! Every person who has raved on the chicken curry is totally 100% spot on. It's GORGEOUS. The chicken practically shreds itself and the potatoes are soft. And the carrots! Let me tell you. I HATE carrots. LOATHE carrots. CANNOT STAND carrots. So I was apprehensive about it. I thought they were going to be the sliced carrots that are all strangely ridged and hard and gross. But these carrots are glorious and sweet, picking up the sweet tones in the yellow curry. And you can cut them with your plastic fork. They don't taste like carrot. They taste like YUM. And that is a good thing. Omnomnomnom.

Love the food at Pink Pepper and have been ordering it via delivery for well over 14 years. The only downside is that their price points are a bit on the pricey side, but the quality of the ingredients are consistently very good. I really like their garlic lover's scallops. I also enjoy their broccoli beef dish. What can I say, aside from their prices, the food is very good. C. Dialo in Hollywood

Ordered delivery and was quoted 40 mins. Didnt arrive for 1hr 30 mins! The panang curry was good but the pad see ew was gross in comparison to thaifoon, toi or thai patio. Too many other thai restaurants that are near and delicious to come back here again.

The recent reviews had prepared me for great food-bad service, and I'm sure these experiences are all valid. Nevertheless I have to say we had a great dinner AND great service. Have to point out it was 6:30pm and we were one of only two tables of customers at the time. Maybe that helped. Oh and the men's room was absolutely the cleanest, stylishly decorated restaurant restroom I've ever seen. I guess having low expectations made a difference. No complaints whatsoever.

Pink Pepper is empty more often then not because their service is some of the worst around. If you are not white or asian, I've noticed that they will get rid of you. They will say that you can't eat there which is what they did to me & I noticed them doing that to someone else. wtf? also, for those that are confused about the emptiness- read the other reviews, some ppl found hair & bugs in their food. Would you go back? One person had the cashier claim that didn't fully pay for their meal when they had & the customer ended up paying more money because they were cheated. Dishonest...

The service is a little, er, awkward at best... but the atmosphere is relaxing and the food is SOOO GOOD! So I am totally willing to put up with it! Planned on going to an improv show just down the street, so naturally, I looked on Yelp for some ideas and came across Pink Pepper Thai. When we first walked in to the mostly empty restaurant, as I looked at the dimmed lighting, the ultra-mod touches throughout accented with the not-so-discrete Thai and Buddhist art pieces, I thought we had made a huge mistake. I thought to myself, "A place that spends this much energy on looks couldn't possibly serve anything good." I was DEAD WRONG! We ordered Spicy Noodles (like Pad Kee Moa) with Shrimp and Red Curry with Chicken. Unlike some places that skimp on the spice, the Spicy Noodles were very flavorful and VERY spicy. The Red Curry was also very impressive, but my heart lies with those Spicy Noodles! YUM! Also, the presentation of the food was also very simple and elegant; adds a nice extra touch of sophistication to your dining experience. My bf and I were able to enjoy a very filling dinner for less than $30 here (including $8 corkage). Definitely a keeper in our book, especially since it's so close to the improv show we plan on attending regularly! One more thing: I noticed Pink Pepper Thai had received a B rating; obviously, "B" stands for BEST b/c everyone knows the best food comes from those holes in the wall that receive B ratings from the Dept of Public Health!

After being recommended by a friend to eat here we went and tried it tonight. I thought the food was excellent. The pineapple chicken curry had large chunks of pineapple in it and the sauce was delicious. The service was pretty good too. We only had to wait about 1 minute when we went in while they cleaned and set the table. The jasmine rice was nice but I thought the portion size was a little small considering how much sauce there was with the curry. I'm looking forward to going to the Pink Pepper again to try other items on the menu.

First course recommendations: -Thai Egg Rolls -Pink Pepper Rolls -Spicy Won Tons All three were awesome. The spicy won tons come with this spicy sweet and sour sauce and they are served super hot with a creamy spinach filling inside. I could eat these every single time I go. The Prik King chicken is a great dish, but it is SUPER spicy! Order with care, but if you like spice (hot spice) - you should dig this dish. But by far Pink Pepper is all about the yellow curry. It is my LA favorite yellow curry. It comes with HUGE chunks of super tender chicken breast that simply fall apart around my fork. The potatoes and carrots are delectable as they were probably poached in the curry itself - so tasty, and somehow never over or under cooked. It's a little hard to find b/c its kind of under a parking garage, but if you park in that garage and then walk back to the street, its just north of the garage. $6 to park in the garage.

Yeah, I agree. It's a pretty great find that seems to be undervalued in its neighborhood. Penang curry, pad thai, angel wings are my favorites, but nothing I've tried has ever disappointed. Ordering online is pretty easy and quick, too.

Finally a decent Thai place in my neighborhood. Tried to order the phone but the guy refused to understand a single word I said. Okay, I'm reading off YOUR menu, and you can't understand what I'm saying? Sure. So I ordered online... and after I finished eating I became a repeat customer. Thai BBQ Beef Ribs are delish, my boyfriend really likes their Pad Woon Sen, Chicken Satay is always good but this place has pretty good peanut sauce, Pad Thai, Green Curry Fried Rice, Tom Kha, Green Beans... nothing was bad. And that's saying a whole lot considering the frighteningly disgusting Thai places that lurk in the dark corners of Hollywood. Overall, I'm satisfied with this place and there are lots of things I the menu I still want to try.

This is literally my favorite restaurant in the world! I've been eating here for over 16 years! Beep. My text from last night: "We're going to get take-out from Pink Pepper. What do you want?" I quickly scanned the reviews. Hmm, they're rather unhelpful with only a few people mentioning specific dishes. I reluctantly texted back my standard Thai order (it's good to have a baseline, right?). "Pad thai with chicken and shrimp. Plus angel wings." Yeah, so I'm not an adventurous Thai food eater which is fine as I have a mostly hateful relationship with Thai food anyway. I went to pick it up and it was around $45 for my order, yellow curry with chicken, Pink Pepper rolls and prik king with extra beef. I didn't try anything but my own food. Portion size- rather small. But I liked the semi-reusable containers they came in. Angel wings- decent size, packed with the usual nummy meat and noodles. Every now and then, I got a crunch of water chestnut. Two in an order for about $7 (pricey). Pad Thai- uggh, this stuff was all gummed up in the container. I didn't want to eat the whole thing but was forced to as I couldn't pry the noodles apart. It was just one big noodle then. Chicken pieces were small and there were only two shrimp. Is it the best place for Thai? Nah, probably not though I didn't try what I now know I should have gotten- their duck. And I might go back as it is rather nicely decorated with an outside (enclosed) patio in addition to the dining room. The cashier was nice enough to offer to see if they had an order of egg rolls we could sneak off with when we thought we should add to our order. Otherwise, it would have taken an additional 15-20 minutes for egg rolls (why this long, I don't know).

I work around the corner from Pink Pepper and have ordered delivery several times over the years. I've eaten in a few times as well. As far as Thai places go, this one ranks up there amongst my favorites. The Garlic pepper beef comes in a delightfully garlicky sauce with shallots, mushrooms and onions. The yellow chicken curry is sweet and coconutty with potatoes and carrots and the chicken is tender enough to shred with a fork. They're not shy with the peanut clusters in their Pad Thai and it's got a nice little tang to it. Price-wise they're ok. I wouldn't call them expensive but they're not the cheapest either. The lunch specials are pretty good deals but if you want your food delivered, there's a $20 minimum, so hopefully you've got a friend to go halfsies with. My favorite Thai place in all of LA is still Sanamluang cafe in the Valley, but this place will do in a pinch.

Ate here for Valentines dinner a year ago and was treated badly and feel that it was because we are gay. The waitress rude and tried to rush us out, later I found out from another source that they also had a very rude experience dining there when he requested ti sit out on the patio. I love Thai good but will never go back ti Pink Pepper and make other recommendations when friends or family ask of a good Thai restaurant

I came here quite a bit... My friend introduced me to the place as he was a frequent flyer. We used to live in different parts of LA- West LA and USC, but we'd still come out to Hollywood to go to Pink Pepper. Now he's moved closer to Sunset blvd in downtown, so I'd imagine we'll be vising quite often. We always get the Salt and Pepper Garlic Tofu entree. That might not be what it is called exactly, but it is amazing! The decor is understated and soothing, like a Thai massage parlor- tones of brown and black and gold. We like this little booth on the right side of the restaurant that barely fits two people. Secluded and cozy. Once, we decided to go to Pink Pepper and parking was horrendous that night. We parked all the way on Hollywood and Highland (one of the huge parking structures), walked 2 blocks, and then I got stuck on the phone with work. By the time I walked in, my friend had ordered food and was done eating half, and we had to leave so that I could go back into the office. (This was at 10PM) Not the best story- and one that would leave sore memories, but I still really like Pink Pepper and would go back in a heartbeat.

A lunch favorite amongst my department. Decent quality Thai, on the expensive side however and the serving sizes are a bit small for my liking.

I used to be a regular at this place. I live close by. The food is good. im not here to criticize that. Portions do not match the price. I go there almost twice a week and I always take friends with me. I was surprised with the "new" rice policy. U have to pay $2 for a small brown rice bowl. Not that it made the meal portion any better. We paid $8 for 4 orders of rice - which at other places would be a $2 order. I think that wasnt a good move- come on ,,, its steamed rice. Service is slow. Not really that warm and friendly. and they mess up on the take out quiet often. I used to love this place and go there as i mentioned twice a week at least now i dont anymore.

So I utilized the wonderful online ordering system on their website. Not that I don't like people ...hmmmm just is nice to do it all online including putting in credit card number if paying by credit card. The food arrived in less than a half hour. I ordered some of my favorites and tried something new and perhaps healthy. I ordered the...... jungle curry made without coconut milk it had bamboo shoots, green bell peppers, and pumpkin. The combination of the spicy curry with the sweet pumpkin was great. I requested no squash not sure if it normally comes with it. The menu just says seasonal veggies. It was spicy!! It came with rice and I love the option of brown rice although I don't think I would order it again I would try something else. Maybe it was just to spicy for me. I am a wuse. When you order online they give you free eggrolls which were really hot. They were veggie and stuffed with glass noodles. I try not to love them in all of their deep fried goodness. The usual sticky orange sauce to dip them in is lighter than normal which is a good thing. Chicken Larb -very tasty, I like my larb with a lot of rice flour and these don't disappoint. Served with red cabbage, carrots and Romain lettuce that you can wrap it all into and stick it in your manpleaser. Yummy!!! Its hard to put down. Spicy Beef Salad- warm, tender steak with tomatoes, carrots, and cucumbers. Dressing has the perfect balance of sour. I asked for chopped peanuts and it worked well giving the extra crunch. Pink Pepper is reliable and great for delivery. 5 stars to me means I would change nothing so this really is top notch.

So need some place to get together and enjoy some delicious food? Come here for good eats! So I met up with some old friends for lunch at Pink Pepper Thai Cuisine. There's a small patio area out in front of the restaurant enclosed with glass, where you can people watch and enjoy the weather. Food: Appetizer: Siam Sampler: Chicken Satay, Angel Wing, Egg Rolls and Spicy Wontons $9.95 ( Nothing bad here. If you haven't had any of these before give'em a try. You can get your crunch on with everything but the tasty satay. ) Lunch Chicken Curry: Chicken, potatoes, and carrots with yellow curry sauce. $7.50 (You have a choice to the degree of spiciness for the curry. I went with hot. The curry was fantastic. The portions are correctly sized. If you think it should be larger then your over eating or better yet order an appetizer.) I definitely will be back to try other tasty dishes on this menu. Service:4 Food:4 Decor:4 Would I go back? You bet your pastrami I would.

We ordered their red curry with chicken and yellow curry with Veg, Tofu. Both were fantastic and fresh. We ordered the Tom Yum Kai and it was above average. (hence the 4 stars). I would go there again.

err....yum! Pink Pepper is really very good, the decor is quite lovely, they offer parking.... but the food is the real ticket! The Pad Thai is flavoursome and yummy with perfect noodles, the Pinapple Rice is delish deliciousness (i was very wowed!) and I was advised that the spicy cashew and roasted chilis was thai spicy to perfection, just the right amount of burn without killing the flavour... I tried it and found it very very tasty. anyway.... I have tried quite a few Thai places in LA and this one is my favourite in Hollywood so far. The staff are friendly and top up your ice-tea at all the appropriate times. I have read a few people talk of small portions, I went home with a doggy bag so no complaints there and it was not expensive as i had expected from reading the reviews on here... $50 inc tip for pink pepper rolls to start, 3 main dishes (plenty!!) a large beer and an ice tea -seems pretty good to me, its not super CHEAP but its not super pricey by any standards. I second Juan L who said "The food is not greasy, and the ingredients tasted fresh". Yum!! p.s Alcohol: they serve beer, wine and cocktails.

I just moved to the area from Northern California; Particularly the Bay Area, and let me tell you; for a non-Thai person, I know my Thai food pretty damn well. I seen the reviews, and since me and my boyfriend were on Highland and Hollywood at about 8:30PM, we decided to get Thai food. 8:35PM - We're seated and given menus. Ooh, it looks nice in here! Smells good too. Oh hey, it's pretty empty! There's a big group right next to us, but they look like they're about to leave 8:45PM - Okay, we're ready now.. 8:55PM - ...We've been ready.. damn, does it really talk that long to whip out a pen and paper? Can I at least get a glass of water?! 9:07PM - "Hi, what would you like?" Just a water, a Thai Iced Tea, and the Garlic Chicken without Bamboo shoots. 9:12PM - The water comes out. 9:21PM - The Thai Tea comes out. 9:30PM - Me and my boyfriend are just sitting there Puzzling.. WE ONLY ORDERED ONE F*#$@^! THING ON THE MENU! We see the waitresses bringing everyone else food, but really? REALLY? 9:45PM - We decided to just leave. We paid for the food, and it was ready all of the sudden as soon as we left, and the food was good, but overpriced. But does it really take an hour to be freakin' chillin for some Garlic Chicken? Like, sh*t, are you out in the back, growing garlic in your Garden and killing the chicken? The back door opened, and we seen like 3 or 4 chefs back there! For shame, Pink Pepper. For shame.

I love this place. I used to work across the street from it. My Favs: chicken curry, gets you full and is thick and full of flavor. The chicken wanton. The sauce is awesome and the batter is just right. The wanton shrimp are delicious as well, again the sweet sauce adds the perfect blend. Ok, the salad...they have the best honey mustard I tasted. You need to request it. They may not understand at first, but it is worth the try. I know they only serve it with the lunch specials, but you can get it for dinner. Other comments: I went for valentines day. The decor was beautiful. Nice dim lights, and they had roses for the ladies to take home. Was not bad, and the quality of the food is worth more than the reasonable prices. Negatives: at lunchtime it will take forever to get yor food.

I only order delivery from here. Not too pricey & a good value. I converted my co-workers - so sometimes we get delivery about 3 times a week from this place. Always fresh, fast & lots of options so we don't get bored: Beef salad, crying tiger beef, coconut shrimp, pink pepper rolls (light, basil, veggie, tofu things), great tom yum kai, mango sticky rice . . . on down the list. The only thing better would mean traveling to thai town. For a regular local delivery place - this is the best in a sea of mediocre.

Hello all, I am the king and I want to oversee this review. Let me put it bluntly: The Pink Pepper is the sh%t. I have been here over ten times and I am satisfied with every visit. I love the food and the service is top notch. There is always a seat available and typically it is a spacious booth! You can always get the best seat in the house. Just make sure to order the best food on the menu! To me the best food is the garlic pepper and tofu or the chili pepper and tofu. I am a vegetarian and that is why I get them prepared in such a manner. I'm sure a meat eater-like you-could get the same meal and it would be super delicious. So go out and try the pepper! Parking is validated at the adjacent parking structure and when validated, it is totally free! The food is very decently priced and the atmosphere makes the food taste even better. The place is very original and it is the best of any asian restaurant has to offer. It is not mainstream and it is a good thing. Don't let too many people know about the Pink Pepper. It is my favorite restaurant in LA. Peace out bizzles my nizzles :D By the way: I am the boyfriend of the below user's post. We are both awesome. Trust our judgment.

This place is located very close to where I live which is convenient. The service is good, but the Pad See Wee isnt that great. I havent tried any other dishes here yet, although I am sure I will soon. My star rating so far is just based on how much I love Pad See Wee and how I found theirs to be mediocre at best.

Got the sweet and sour pork, along with their "awesome" spring roll appetizer to-go. Ordinarily You would expect boxed food to be at least a bit worst in quality, be it the food sogged up w/ sauce or over-steamed w/ condensation. The food, though eaten practically an hour later due to my getting lost trying to find 25degrees, was very tasty and of high quality. Both of these entrees were very fresh, of defining flavors in each ingredient, and delicious. Though these dishes were consumed in the safety of my hotel room, I couldn't help but notice the nice ambience of the restaurant. The neighborhood in which this medium sized restaurant is in is kinda cutty, and parking is impossible, however the atmosphere was.. in one word: beautiful. If thai food is in your agenda, and you have a date, this is a sure-win to her heart.. and stomach. har har har

I work up the street and have been ordering from this place for years. The food is ok, but the service in just lame. A while back they raised the prices and I had just enough to cover the bill and the delivery guy was so offended that he wasn't getting a tip he tried to not give me my food! I thought I'd give them a second chance and have been waiting 1 1/2 hours for my food to arrive. Keep in mind I work less than three blocks away. Sorry Pink Pepper you made me do this. A happy customer tells a few people and a bummed customer tells the internet.

This is my Favorite Thai Restaurant in Hollywood. Almost everytime I order it is perfect. Normally I would give them a 4 star review but today they have lost a star. Today I placed an order over the phone and my order was delivered within the time they mentioned. However I had ordered brown rice with my curry and I was given WHITE rice. I called back to complain and they told me all that could be done was to send someone over with the brown rice. This doesn't really do me any good as by the time they got over with the correct rice my food would be cold. So I asked if they would give me a discount on my next order or if anything else could be done. He then offered to give me 25 cents or a dollar off my order. I understand that rice isn't exactly worth much, but its the whole principal of it. I just paid 25 bucks for my lunch and I wanted it made right! When I got upset he hung up on me. Not exactly the best customer service. BOOO PINK PEPPER!

This place is a few blocks down from where I live and I've passed it several times. Every time I've walked by, I think to myself that seems likte a cool place to check out--as I'm always on the look out for really good Thai. The staff was attentive, friendly, and prompt and I felt that the atmosphere was relaxing. I felt that I could eat my lunch without feeling rushed. The lunch specials were pretty reasonable and appropriately sized. I ordered the garlic dish with chicken--now on the menu, they had an asterisk marked next to this dish, which means that it's for the adventurous only. However, when I got the dish, I felt that it was lacking something--I couldn't put my finger on it, but I felt that it was not at all spicy and lacked some flavor. I was a bit disappointed in this, but on the plus side I liked the spring roll and the sauce accompanying it. If you want some good Thai, I'd recommend Thai Pepper further down on Franklin Avenue. It's a hole in the wall, but the food is great.

I walked by the restaurant and was lured in with yummy smell of the food. The patio area looked nice. I got the Pineapple Paradise with Chicken. The food was good, but nothing special though. I would go again if I'm in the area, but probably wouldn't go out of my way to come back again.

I'll start off by saying that the food at Pink Pepper was delicious. As far as I know, everyone in our party of 8 was pleased with the quality of their food. The problem at Pink Pepper, and the reason why I will never go back, is the service. As I said, we came with a party of 6. The restaurant had maybe 3 other tables occupied at the time. We were all on our way to another event after dinner, so we chose what we wanted to order very quickly. The server did not take our order for 20 minutes after we had been seated. We then did not get our food for another 45 minutes. Even then, 3 people of our party didn't get their food until the rest of us were nearly finished eating. The waitstaff was completely unapologetic about the delay. Finally, we waited 15 minutes to get the bill and would not have gotten it if we didn't ask the server (who was just standing around talking to the hostess) for it. Here's the kicker - this place had the audacity to automatically charge us 18% for tip, because we had a party of 6. No wonder they were so inattentive! I would have come back, but I don't want to support places that treat their customers so poorly.

I love this place. The Thai food is so tasty: everything from the noodles to the curry. We generally go in large groups for work lunches, and they always handle our groups well. My only complaint is that the portions on the lunch-specials seem a little on the small side. But one is always free to order appetizers or a full-size entre.

First time here. Six of us shared everything. For the first time in I cannot remember how many years, I did not do the ordering, not one dish. A friend who is very familiar with the restaurant as he lives nearby and orders takeout often did most of the ordering. 1. As usual, I gave instructions to have no sugar added to our dishes, begging for our food to be cooke like in Bangkok, Thailand. Hallelujah!!!!! The waitress agreed with me whole heartedly and admitted they add sugar to ever dish (like every single Thai restaurant in So. Cal, maybe throughout the US) and that it is not generally the practice in Thailand. Just that factor alone made all the difference. I have been making this request for many years and many waitstaff have been reluctant, some acting like they don't understand or that it is not possible to omit the suger, etc.. When I sense any resistance at all, I just tell them I am diabetic (though I am only pre-diabetic). Trust me, the food is without a doubt significantly better. This is truly a crime what they have done to Thai food in this country. Joanthan Gold! Are you listening? I need a crusader at this point to reverse this preversed tragedy. 2. Angel wings.....the last time I ordered Angel Wings was 25 years ago when I first arrived in LA. My instinct tells me it's not Thai although I may be wrong...seems like an American invention, but this time, it was good, I simply had no words to complain about it. 3.Pad Thai, another dish that normally disgusts me due to the sugary sauce that not only tastes nasty but also binds the noodles into sticky lumps but this one was none of that, straight forward and tasty like it was commonly served more than 20 years ago in LA. 4. Both the won ton and tom yum soup were just clean, fresh, simple and tasty.....ahhh, nice...... more than I can ask for. I think the low expectations I came into this place definitely made the dinner enjoyable. 5. Crying tiger was cooked just perfect, medium rare. 6. When someone ordered the BBQ ribs, I thought oh no.....it's those red sticky chinese style pork ribs that is another disastrous American candy dream but it turned out to be nicely done Korean-Style short ribs, no sugar that I can detect (knowing how Korean ribs are prepared, there is proabably sugar but just a little here). 7. The duck though relatively expensive at $19 was one of the best ducks we ever had at a Thai restaurant. Again, nothing fancy but crispy, seasoned just right and "fresh", meaning moist inside and no hints that it has been sitting around (no pun intended). 8. Finally, both the sticky rice with mango and friend banana with ice cream were very good. $27/person out the door. Corkage was only $8/bottle. (PS, we were in this neighborhood to eat ramen at Ikemem but it was closed today, probably due to it being Memorial Day. Interestingly, IKEMEM has a sign at the door that shows hours of operation and it is normally open on Mondays. There was no sign that say it is closed today due to a holiday)

Mediocre at best. I mean, I loves me some Thai food and there are so many other great Thai places in the general vicinity of Pink Pepper that it infuriates me when everyone insists on ordering from here. Again. Look, it's passable. If you're starving and close by, the prices are ok and well, it will be a meal.

I have been wanting to try this place since moving in to the neighborhood but was reluctant due to some of the reviews, especially from vegetarians. Well, I a pescatarian who had a good experience! I got the Pink Pepper Rolls, which are summer rolls- they were sort of bland and the mustard sauce was weird with them, and they didn't give me much of the sweet sauce. They would have been good with peanut sauce, but I didn't order any or ask for more sauce so can't complain (just a suggestion to those who order them!). I got the Thai noodle salad with shrimp. It was nice, light and a little spicy! Tasty! Only problem is I didn't read the menu well and when it was served I noticed it had chicken in it. So I sent it back and they re-made it for me with no complaints, even though it was my bad. The only thing I could complain about is when it did come back, they only gave me 3 shrimp, but I guess that is my bad for wasting food. I accepted my punishment for not reading the menu properly. The salad was still delicious and satisfying. Also, nice ambiance. I will definitely go back!

Wow! I ordered sweet and sour shrimp, just shrimp, not shrimp and ROACH!! So grossed out beyond belief! I hope the health department gets there soon to check that out! Yikes!! Hope they don't have a problem since they seem to have a problem keeping them out of the food.

Yummy in my tummy! Whenever I have a hinkering for Thai food, I come here. Their Pad Thai is the best-chicken and shrimp. Their pineapple fried rice is also very delicious. And I can down a large Thai ice tea in about 10 minutes. Will definitely return.

Well first this is directly at the end of my street and I have to say by far has to be one of the best Thai places to have dinner. I have eaten here and taken dates here on a few occasions and never have had a bad experience (with the restaurant that is.. dates well that's another story!! haha) Anyhow I love their Ginger/Mushroom with chicken dish entree and also their pad thai ( yes yes generic!) Their menu is very extensive and very thai. You can also specify if you want mild, hot, or OH Sh**! HAHA At any rate the service is always spot on and friendly. The food is served fast and fresh. The wine list is SOOO affordable... $20/bottle or so.. and glasses are $7ish.. well might as well go for that bottle! Anyhow usually seated in the wall area that is quiet and you do not really hear the other tables. Food to go and they deliver for $15 I think AGAIN A GREAT PLACE FOR DINNER DATE and GOOD FOOD and SERVICE!

This is another one of the trendy Thai restaurants popping up around Hollywood. We must have past by 5 of these types of places on the way here. The food was very mediocre. The Pineapple Paradise Curry was the lone highlight. The pineapple was fresh and sweet and offered a nice contrast to the spiciness of the curry. But the other dishes were all mediocre. The Prik Khing green beans and shrimp was bad. The green beans were undercooked and tough. The wonton soup was okay but nothing special. The Pink Pepper rolls were bland. Overall nothing to rave about. The interior design was unique with Thai artifacts and knickknacks. They were playing generic lounge chillout/music. Free validated parking in the lot behind the restaurant.

I'm not a big Thai fan, but there are a couple dishes at Pink Pepper that I love! My favorite is the Chili & Mint Leaves Chicken. And their satay is fabulous. Great for catering a large party & decently priced. We cater in for lunch from them on occasion & usually everyone is happy.

Do NOT order from here. Just placed an online order for Tom Kha Gai and an order of pink pepper rolls. An hour later I was delivered a dozen egg rolls??? I called to let them know they had made a mistake and to get my correct order. After 10 minutes of being on hold, I was told it was not their fault, that the email order that came in was for a dozen egg rolls and they would give my 15% off if I ordered again WHAT? Clearly there is something wrong with their ordering system, as I never even saw the page with egg rolls nor would I ever order them as I don't like them and their solution is to make me pay twice for my order...bite me and I gave a nice tip, so I just gave them $20 for absolutely nothing...now it is 10pm and I have to order from somewhere else. Will definitely never be ordering from here again.

Nice atmosphere and they have an outdoor patio as well. it's one of a handful of good Thai places within walking distance to where we live. We've had a few of their apps, their soup, and their pad thai, and all were really good. We will go back and I would recommend it to others. We ordered take out from this place recently... I would suggest eating in the restaurant. I don't know if it was because it was delivery or if it was just a fluke, but both of the entrees we ordered were full of grease on the bottom.

Decent Thai food at this place but oh my God the delivery service is ridiculously slow. My small order took over an hour and a half to be delivered to my house and when I called to ask about it on the phone, the woman I spoke to was not the least bit apologetic, in fact, she was pretty rude. I ended up having to make something else for dinner for my kids. Guess I'll be looking for a new Thai delivery place.

Pink Pepper's food is good, but not so good that in makes up for their lame service. A group of my coworkers went out for dinner and from the minute we ordered things started to go wrong. First the waitress told one of my coworkers she couldn't have an extra tea cup for the pot of tea two people were sharing already, but then turned around and offered an extra cup to another coworker when they asked later. Weird. Next, when one of us got the wrong dinner and mentioned it, the waitress tried to convince her that she actually did order that meal. Not only is that a weird and poor strategy to use in that situation, but she actually seemed unable to believe she had gotten it wrong. Finally she went back into the kitchen and we heard her yelling at someone... awkward. When she came back, she said that actually it was their mistake, but you know, we said that from the get-go. My meal took a long time to come out, long after everyone else's had been brought to the table. When our check came, we were automatically charged 20% gratuity-- AS IF! It's one thing to automatically charge gratuity, but with such poor service you'd think they'd be embarrassed to ask for it. Not returning. Ever.

"Pink Pepper" Pink Pepper is tucked just a few steps off the corner of Hollywood & La Brea. Very close to the H&H area. I came here today for a work lunch. We came hungry and although I did not get a chance to browse the entire menu I quickly skimmed their Lunch Specials. And "Pink Pepper" has a good amount of entrees with decent prices. I ended up ordering their Sweet Basil Eggplant (with shrimp). Most of the dishes offers you a choice of meat: vegetable/tofu, chicken, pork, shrimp or beef. And, you're probably wondering what I thought of the dish. In simple terms, "It was extremely tasty." The eggplant was soft and easy to cut. Garnished with red and green bell peppers with black bean sauce. My dish came with a spring roll, sweet & sour sauce and white rice. And as much as I didn't want to - I pretty much ate the entire plate. Hey, what can I say? To my surprise it was more than good, it was excellent. The restaurant itself isn't large especially looking at the scale from the outside. They have an indoor area with tables and an outdoor patio with booths as well as tables. It was a nice sunny day today in Hollywood and we ended up sitting outside. The service was good, average I'd say. Although the lack of communication between server and guests, our beverages were never empty. You could say that I'd be back. Watch for that updated review coming soon.

I went on my first date with my now-wife to the Pink Pepper. I can only say that it has boded well, and we almost always spend our anniversary eating here. The food is yummy, and I still have not found any place that can compare to the prik-khing (a lovely blend of sweet and chili) the Tom-Kha (my absolute favorite - spicy coconut soup) and the fried banana with coconut ice-cream. Okay, I'm getting really hungry. This place is lovely, romantic, and the people who serve here are wonderful. Definitely a must-go-to-place for a romantic dinner. Okay, thus endeth my love-rant.

This is the best restaurant I have EVER eaten at. Seriously. The Tom Kha Kai is scrumtrulescent. We order the hot pot, dump some of their plump brown rice in it, and go to town. Get the fried wontons too, they're so tasty. I don't ask what's in them and I don't want to know. The chicken yellow curry is fabulous. My other half gets the Gulf of Siam and it is awesome. Every time I go there I stuff myself until the food is packed clean up to my uvula. Most Thai places use some kind of gross dry chicken strips that taste like jerky. Here you get fat juicy chunks of melt-in-your-mouth chickeny goodness. It's a flavor explosion- a perfect mix of sour, sweet, salty, and spicy. They set the standard for Thai cuisine so high that I haven't found any place that can compare. I almost forgot to mention dessert. Yeah yeah, I know you're full, but get the fried banana with coconut ice cream. When I die I want my viewing here. I don't care if it violates health codes!

They have great dishes for Vegans, you have the option for tofu or veggies in most of the entrees. the pinnaple paradise is amazing! Ohh and so is the sweet & sour dish with tofu! not a great selection of desserts for vegan tho.

we order from here at my work on occasion and its pretty good. we are getting catering size orders so their pretty large but i still think its all tasty. it can be a little oily so its all dependent on what you order. the pad thai is very flavorful and the tofu and vegetables is light and not too greasy. pretty tasty stuff!

Very good Thai food. Tried the crisp duck salad & basil eggplant chicken. Tasty dishes, friendly wait staff, and quick service. Not modern, but nice decor with lots of Thai touches. We'll be back.

A little spot of Thai heaven! Pink Pepper is divine and I would recommend it to any Thai fanatic. Great dishes for carnivores and herbivores alike. The thai iced tea is not too sweet and the green tea ice cream is perfect. I've been a regular there for 7 years now and I would gladly give them 5 stars except they "hipped" up the music. They used to play old swing stuff and now it is too beat-y. I prefer my music swanky but other than that the prices are great and their chicken satay is my favorite. Other treats are yellow curry and the prikh king tofu. The location is close enough to Hollywood & Highland that you could take the subway and walk. If you drive, turn into the driveway/alley a speck north of Pink Pepper and pull into the lot. Parking there is free for 2 hours with validation. Happy Thai! ***UPDATE Had to review my review and give the place 3 stars. While the food is still as excellent as ever sadly, Pink Pepper has fallen prey to the "we're so good we can raise our prices and cut pur portions" syndrome. Oh and the music is even more horriffic than ever. Iwant my old Pink Pepper back! If you have never been and want super yummified Thai food, by all means visit but if you remember them when be warned...sigh...

Delicious, authentic Thai food and a wide variety of dishes on the menu without it being overwhelming. Decent service.

I've never actually eaten inside the restaurant, but if the decor is as good as everything I've tried from the menu - then it must be pretty awesome. We order deliver at least 2 - 4 times a month and each time, we are impressed. Aside from having to kind of scrunch your face and try really hard to make out the words on the other other end of the phone - nothing bad to say. It's probably the fact that I can't understand a word the person on the other end is saying that the food is so good. My "must have's" are: The panang curry with tofu and brown rice and the green papay salad (a bit spicy!).

    (4)
  • Austin B.

I had this tonight with a friend, and I had some really good Panang Curry. A friend of mine works down the street and he goes there for lunch all the time. I also had a bit of PadThai and it was also delicious. The only reason I don't give it a full 5 stars is because they make you pay for refills on soda. Which I do not like.

Don't let the name fool you; this restaurant's peppers are not even close to wimpy! The food is excellent and the prep time for takeout is very low. Try the Pad Woon Sen or, if you're a seafood afficianado, the Gulf of Siam. A word of warning though: spicy MEANS spicy! They will be more than happy to tone it down for you and Mild will leave your mouth tingling pleasantly without requiring skin grafts for your tongue. The waiters are very unobtrusive while providing a great level of service. The only reason they don't get five full stars is that delivery time can extend your order. If you order out from them, I would recommend sittting down to eat there or picking up the food yourself. They're just too popular for their own good to make delivery any faster, really.

Yellow curry. The tastiest yellow curry that I can't stop thinking about. A curry so tasty you ask for less chicken just so you can get more of that sweet, delicious sauce. My favorite Thai place in LA.

  • Lauren T.

This place has a nice atmosphere and great outdoor seating. The food is pretty tasty; I love the pad thai, egg rolls, and curry. Delivery is speedy, but sit-in service is spotty. The portions are quite small for what they charge.

  • Pinguino K.

I don't even really like thai food and I tried Pink Pepper last night and LOVED it. I just had a yellow chicken curry, and while it was insane spicy, it had such an addictive, yummy flavor that i kept eating it. The white chicken breast was cooked to perfection, as well. And I had whatever the $5 bottle of sake was, and it was really really good- piping hot and slightly sweet. YUM!

  • Nina H.

"Meh. I've experienced better." pretty much sums it up. There are a lot of thai places around this town, so it's gonna take more than what Pink Pepper serves up- smaller than normal plates of bland thai food. though it isn't too pricey, it is not a good value as the plates are so scarce. it wouldn't be an issue if we were at some high-end place where every last bite is delicious. but that is not the case. the "spicey" plates aren't spicey. the other plates also fall flat. ive tried soup, noodles and rice. and the service? non existent.

This is my all time favorite restaurant! The chicken curry w/potatoes & carrots is the bats, chicken satay, coconut soup with chicken, & royal shrimp! Yes, you will have leftovers! LOL A great thing is that you are given the choice between brown & white rice!

I work 2 blocks from this spot. I discovered it by accident. It's delicious and really affordable. And the spicy is actually spicy! My biggest complaint is that lunch is uneven. Sometimes the chicken is sweet and tender and sometimes it tastes like it has been re-heated and been sitting under a heat lamp. They have delicious dumplings and are very friendly. If they could work on consistency then another star would go up!

A friend of mine brought me here because it is walking distance from his house. Been here twice. Both times it was very good. The prices are reasonable and the food is pretty good. The staff is very friendly and attentive.

I miss the Pink Pepper. I used to work down the street from this delicious Thai restaurant. My co-workers and I would either get Pink Pepper delivered or eat at the restaurant weekly, and I never got sick of it. The Chicken curry poured over brown rice is a winning combination. Pair that with a Thai iced tea, and you're set. I also like the Spicy Beef salad, and you can never go wrong with the egg rolls. The Lunch Specials are a great deal and come with a tasty salad. I'm taking off one star for unbearably slow service, and an unforgettable visit to the restaurant when my friend's foot fell through the floor. To their credit they did some renovating to the restaurant after this incident and improved the conditions, but at the time they did nothing to compensate him for the mishap.

This is THE place to go for Thai Food in LA, HANDS DOWN. Incredibly delicious pot stickers, crispy fresh egg rolls and the best Yellow Chicken Curry in LA and probably in the United States of America. Period. They also have the best chow mein on the face of the planet (get the beef chow mein its killer). Actually just about everything on the menu is great, but the chow mein and the Curry is worth dying for. It's in Hollyhood off of La Brea by Hollywood BLVD.

  • Jeanne W.

this was a yummy restaurant, here's hoping they keep up the quality. good tom kha gai, pad thai, pad see yu. [ i don't claim to have the spelling on these dishes correct... ] not the best location: ultra-busy la brea, near ultra-touristy hollywood blvd. not an area i frequent, in fact, one i avoid like the plague... luckily, there are other thai restaurants of equal pedigree around. still, if you are in the 'hood, it is good.

Great place for Yellow Chicken Curry. Small, cute, good service. Lunch specials are reasonable and they offer Australian wine! Best Thai in Hollywood, without trekking down Sunset to Thai Town!

We spent quite some time looking for parking and ended up using a $20 parking lot because there was an event going on. Sheeesh! At this point we were all thinking was this really worth it? The restaurant has a wonderful ambiance with both indoor and outdoor seating. Very elegant and charismatic. The menu had some great selections. We ordered a Tom Yum Koong Soup and Spring Rolls for appetizer. For entree we ordered Spicy noodles with beef, Chicken Curry, Pineapple Fried Rice and Veggie Pad Thai. Let me tell you the flavors we're intoxicating! After our first 2 bites the $20 parking disappeared from our worries. It was all worth it!

I really like the food here and the staff do their best to get your order out to you in a timely manner. Sometimes not so timely, but I think thats because of a staffing problem so I can't really fault them, they try. THe food though is great and the decor is very nice too. My only complaint, and I do have one, is the heart-beat soundtrack they play whenever I am sitting under the speaker. It is the most annoying thing..beep, beep, beep...I thought someone was getting an EKG and we all had to listen. All I wanted was for the guy to kick the bucket so they would play something else....and one time there was this song where the lady HOWLED like someone stepped on her tail, it was funny for like 20 seconds and then I had to punch the waitress in her stomach until she put on some Duran Duran. Hungry like the Wolf indeed.

This place is yummy. We ordered take out for lunch today so I haven't seen the actual restaurant. The green chicken curry was delicious, one of the most flavorful curries I've had. It had generous portions of chicken, thai basil, red/green peppers, eggplant, and peas. The servings are a good size too although I could have used some more rice to soak up all of the tasty coconut milk goodness. My coworker said the Pad Thai is one of the best in the city, I have yet to try it but would definitely order from here again!

  • maribel a.

Maybe it was the convenience of living a couple of blocks away that kept me coming back. The food is definitely not bad...but not the best considering it's not cheap. Sure the decor is cute, but not enough to warrant true Hollywood prices. The service though, now that is remarkably terrible. I have never had a waiter yell at me before because HE made a mistake with my order. So I basically paid $13 for a cold meal, that I didn't even want. I'm never going back there!

    (2)
  • Adam H.

yellow curry is good and chunky. everything is milder than you would expect so go ahead and order spicy. i am not able to handle much spice but when we asked for medium the food came out too bland. tom yum soup: lukewarm and not much taste. asparagus and shiitake mushrooms: cold and way too salty but the actual produce was good quality. we sent it back to get reheated. dumplings: just as you would expect but i liked them. the ambience is actually nice no kidding. it's weird that you have to walk through the patio to get into the main door of the restaurant, and have to walk through smokers to get in. to me, there are way better thai places in hollywood like jinda, but if you are in the neighborhood, go for it, i will go again if i need to eat somewhere close to my house. there is free parking. if you are facing the restaurant it's down the driveway to the left. you park in a lot and they give you a validation stamp at the restaurant for 2 hours free.

I have never actually been inside this establishment but have ordered delivery to my home over 50 times over the last few years. The food is fresh and tasty, reasonably priced. Sometimes the delivery can take as much as an hour and I only live2 miles away. overall great place!

  • Hailey C.

Just had the worst experience with delivery last night. 1. It took 2 hours to have my food delivered to my house. This place is 10-15min away from where I live. The estimated wait time was 40 minutes. I was very very HANGRY. 2. They forgot an item. I ordered a total of 4 items and they only brought 3. Called this place and asked to deliver it but their response was "But it's going to take a long time." I'm sure it's going to take a long time. Possibly another 2 hours. If you can't deliver what you promised, do not take an order in the first place. True 1 star. #nevercomingback

We went there on a Sunday after going to Mosaic Church. It was ok..nothing special or remarkable. Actually the prices are remarkably high. We had 2 entrees and 2 Thai iced tea and paid 40+ for it. Also, I ordered the sticky rice with mango for dessert but the server came back and told me they didnt have the mango so i said ok i'd still take the sticky rice so we waited for like 10-15minutes and when I flagged her to ask about my sticky rice, she said she forgot to tell me that they actually didnt have the sticky rice too. So we waited for nothing. Never coming back.

Update... Though I still love their food, I was a bit bothered. I ordered the pineapple rice and added $6 for scallops, they gave me the smallest 3 yes 3 scallops I've ever seen. I also paid for additional shrimp and ask for there to be no chicken because the chicken is always so dry. You would think I would get many shrimp because it comes with shrimp and I paid for extra. Nope I got a whopping 5 shrimp. They need to treat their delivery patrons as good as I hear the dine in patrons get. I am going down a star because $23 for some rice and barely any seafood is not cool. BTW i use grub hub and got the food faster than when calling the restaurant directly. Original Review I just got delivery and though I was only 5 min away it took over an hour. However my seafood udon was amazing.

  • Jenn C.

Omg pink pepper is my jaaaaaam. Church is literally right across the way so I get to eat before going to service, which is awesome because I'm always hungry. The panang curry with tofu was so delicious as was the tom yum soup, which was perfect for the freezing day. We also shared the basil eggplant dish and had coconut shrimp and the chicken laarb which were all amazing. Everything we had was super flavorful and no worries, even though it said vegetarian, there are plenty of non veggie dishes. We left super full and happy. Now I can't wait to try the noodles!

So I've lived across the street from here for 3 years but never gave it a try. I tore my MCL and have a hard time walking so I decide to order delivery. I get the Pad Thai (spicy) and add shrimp and chicken. Let me reiterate that I live ACROSS THE STREET. It took an hour to get to me, my Pad Thai had no shrimp in it, two pieces of over cooked shredded chicken, had ZERO flavor, was dry and cold. My egg rolls were cold too. Way over priced and a silly wait time. I could have limped on my crutches probably 3 trips to and from my place in the time it took to get me my food (which takes hardly any time, trust me I know, I've worked in the restaurant biz for 18 years). I've never heard any of my friends or neighbors talk about this place let alone say anything good and my girlfriend was surprised they were still open for business and she's lived in LA for 15 years. Total waste of $25 and time. Pink Pepper Thai needs to get it together. I've had better Thai in a mall food court. Gross.

Terrible food and terrible service. Sometimes the service outweighs the food but not here. We were looking for our server and wondered why she never came back to check on us, then I see her across from us eating and on her cell. LOL. Save your money.

One of my favorite Thai places in Los Angeles and they offer FREE parking. I am a creature of habit and share the chicken friend rice and pad thai with my friend. I always start off with the Tom Kha Gai and chicken curry wontons. The service is hit or miss, but the food is always amazing. They deliver to a pretty wide radius as well. I highly recommend checking this place out.

    (4)
  • Hillary C.

I love this place, I don't know what everybody's problem is. Complaining about the parking in Hollywood is pointless. Complaining about the decor? This isn't a destination spot or a fancy restaurant - it's Thai, hello?! The food is consistently good, and whether I dine in or have it delivered, I've always enjoyed the service. I love all of the appetizers I've had, including the wontons, the royal shrimp, the chicken satay, and the egg rolls. My favorite is the pad thai with BOTH chicken and shrimp. Never heard a complaint from anyone about the quality of the food. if you like Thai, there's no reason not to like Pink Pepper.

  • Ari K.

This place is horrible. On the delivery menu, it does not mention that the curries do not come with rice (it must be just about the only thai restaurant in the world that doesn't include rice with their curries). To make matters worse, when I called to ask about rice, they were just like "we have never included rice with our curry". I said "really, that's your response". No apology, no nothing, no offer to send over a bit of rice. Now I'm sitting here with green curry and no rice.

    (1)
  • Ashley M.

Inattentive servers didn't come to check on us after delivering our food, so I had to wait quite a while to let someone know that my dish contained 2 fruit flies. Little remorse shown and the service remained extremely slow even after my complaint. I would not recommend.

A very short walk from the craziness of Hollywood Boulevard, it's just around the corner from the entrance to the Walk of Fame sidewalk, so it's in a quiet part of town. Open until 11pm on Saturday, which was fantastic given that many stores close at 10pm in the area. A reminder of why I love Thai food in LA. It's cheaper and tastier than the stuff I get in San Diego. The chicken radna was positively savory without being crazy on the salt and MSG, as is often the case back home. The pad thai was spot on. The dishes were only $10 each for just chicken or veggies (and $12 with chicken plus shrimp). Big portions too, as I took half my home as leftovers. The hot tea my dining companion and I ordered was plentiful beautifully presented in a glass teapot with a warming tealight underneath. My booth had cracked seats that should be replaced, boo, but otherwise the place looked up to date and was elegantly decorated. If I ever find myself again in the hullabaloo of Hollywood and want a peaceful and delicious dinner away from the crowds, I will walk right into this place versus driving elsewhere.

Waited an hour for my delivery order, only to get a call saying they cancelled it because they didn't have a delivery driver. Really not cool when you have a team of hungry workers needing grub. 1 star for unreliability.

I eat here pretty much every other week, and their Garlic Lover is SO good. They have great Lunch specials ($8.99 for a salad, rice, egg roll, and a good portion of whichever you pick), and I love the lime dressing on their salad. I've never been at more busy time (usually just Sunday afternoons), but the service has always been great. Not overbearing, but attentive. Yummy yummy Thai food!

Best Thai salad I've ever had. Great variety of fresh veggies, and the chicken is delicious. Plenty for 2 meals! I eat here every other week and the food never disappoints, though the service could be speedier.

Stopped in here for lunch today and it was delicious! I got the lunch special Panang Chicken curry and I loved it! For $8.95 I got a salad (not pictured), egg roll, white rice and curry. Very good. The medium had a perfect amount of spice. Will definitely be back!

  • Roselynn V.

Cute little Thai place. Clean, modern and good food at average prices. They can be slow at times but the wait staff are generally friendly. Yummy Thai tea and those lunch specials are on point. This place is definitely part of my "lunch time" rotation. Indoor and outdoor seating.

  • Vadim d.

It's not bad for being a Thai restaurant outside of Thai Town, but it's the kind of place I would eat at for convenience, but never go out of my way to eat there. We happen to be in the neighborhood and there are not many choices within walking distance that seemed ideal. The food is definitely catered for the white clientele, and doesn't feel very authentic. Tom Yum lacked the flavor that it should have. The curry was a little on the watery side. Everything was ok, but nothing exceptional.

  • Jenise C.

Great take-out. Food comes nice and hot and delicious. I'm loving this place. They also really, really know how to make dishes spicy!!! I love the heat. We ordered a bunch of different items and can't tell you which one was better than the next. The leftovers the next day were rad too. If you're looking for yummy Thai look no further and enjoy Pink Pepper!

  • Ian C.

I've been coming here since 1999 and I'm yet to be disappointed..excellent food, service and ambience..he best Thai place in town. I recommend the chicken satay, yellow chicken curry and the pad Thai, although everything is good here, this is what I really love. They also have a very delivery service also, fast and efficient. There's an outdoor patio area which is great for groups, and as this place is close to Hollywood/highland, it's a great stop before a movie or club..

  • Sara L.

Food (tried Pad See Yu, Thai crusted Salmon & Shrimp appetizer wrapped in wonton. Food = C for average. Nothing special whatsoever. Service = F. I rarely ever leave anything less than 20%, but they definitely DID NOT DESERVE ANY TIP. I guess they're right it's all about location, location, location! Who gives a crap when you have so much customers. Complete disgrace to Asians, we're ALL about service!!!! You still have to EARN your tip. Oh, and don't you just love it when the waitress acts like you're asking for something for the first time when you are asking her for the second, 3rd time? Not to mention just walking away while you're still talking? Or after you've been waving your hands (actually started doing the wave) to get their attention and after many failed attempts you finally get up and go try to get them and they give you the eye and knod that they'll come see you when ready? SAD, it wasn't even THAT busy. Maybe hire more waitresses??? Anyway, not going back.

  • Ashley M.

One word....royal shrimp! LOOOOVE IT! seriously, you can't eat here and not try it! The orange chicken is great too. I do recommend eating there though because sometimes delivery takes a while and it will get soggy. The prices are fair, definitely affordable. The restaurant is super cute, there's free parking in the garage behind the restaurant, no hassle. The staff is always friendly and accommodating and this place is never too busy! Also they have an adorable patio!!

    (4)
  • Jessica T.

I have to give 3 stars here because it was mediocre. The food was good but not great and so was the service. The beginning was great I thought "I should just give them a 5 now!"...nope she barely checked on us, we had to ask for more water, didn't offer to get us more drinks, and I had to go inside from the patio to ask for another side of rice. They had no fans, misters, or fly repellant which all should be a must for outdoor seating! They do validate parking which is good, especially for the Hollywood area. Bathrooms were clean also which is always great.

  • Summer V.

I get the hot pot of wonton soup when I'm in a good mood or when I'm sick or when I want to celebrate or when I'm sad. I LOVE it. I've eaten there and I've had take-out. Eating there is nice, I like the ambiance. Eating take-out is good. I had some trouble ordering online with their fancy app service. Had to call and they hadn't received my order. So I would recommend calling for delivery or take-out. There's also an additional $2 delivery fee that doesn't count as tip, fyi. All around, I still love the food so much I'll just do dine in and take out going forward. :-)

  • Will A.

I've checked-in and eaten here eight times prior and it took me this long to figure this out. If the dish has a asterisk next to it and you don't want it spicy, be very clear with them what you want. Say "no spice" don't say "mild." Otherwise mild is still pretty spicy. I think "mild" to them means they won't add "extra" spice. TONS of red chili pieces in my dish. I ended up not eating most of my meal. I learned my lesson for next time.

If you want to eat off the Hollywood-Walk-of-Fame-beaten-path, the Pink Pepper Thai Cuisine is a must! The service was extremely good! They really went the extra mile to make sure we left satisfied!! If you dare, order everything Thai Hot! It is rare that food, at a restaurant, is spicy to me. The Pink Pepper did not disappoint! I came here for lunch with some friends to eat around 12 noon and the place was empty when we first walked in which was weird because I always here about it always being crowed, but slowly it started to fill up. We had a reservation for 6 people for lunch and we were seated and our orders were taken. Over all nothing fancy but not hole in the wall thai food, its just okay. The food was good, however the service was just whatever. There was no smile or extra step to make our experience memorable. Everyone who I know that eats here gets everything to-go, maybe that's what I should do, because the food is good, its just the actual restaurant is nothing special.

** 3.5 Stars ** Oh, Ikemen, why did you have to close???!? When our go to spot across the street was closed, we decided to try Pink Pepper. I had low expectations (especially since it was nearly empty) and was pleasantly surprised how good it was. Was it the best Thai that I've had? Not even close. Would I go out of my way to eat here? Probably not. But everything that we had was good and I left feeling satisfied. We had: THAI DUMPLINGS Chicken and Vegetable dumplings BROCCOLI AND OYSTER SAUCE with bean sprouts (with Chicken) CHICKEN NOODLES Flat rice noodles, chicken and egg Everything was good, but there's nothing I would say stood out or that you must order. A standard Thai place, but a bit pricey for what it is. This is somewhere that I'd definitely order delivery from, but I'm not sure if it's somewhere you go to sit down and have a nice meal.

Great food. HORRIBLE service. Ordered the garlic lover dish online, and no meat was specified - by accident - and instead of calling the number I gave them to clarify, they decided to choose my "meat" for me and gave me tofu. Which I do not like. When I called to ask for the correct dish they rudely told me it was not their fault (even though I hadnt even blamed them) and that if I wanted the correct dish I would have to come in to pick it up because their driver had just left. Its the middle of the day. I wonder what happens when someone else orders online and no one shows up cause there's no driver... I suppose they'd never know because apparently, this restaurant doesn't know how to pick up a phone to call their customers. Then when I asked if I could have it taken off the bill instead, he said "sure" and hung up. I am now starving and my afternoon is officially spoiled. Thank guys.

Always loved this place, and asserted that their chili cashew nut tofu was the best I've ever had. Sadly, ordered last week and found that the quality had slipped considerably. I'll try again, but I was disappointed.

Their food is good. Does it make me jump up and yell "Yay, I'm a fan?" No, but I will come back every once in a while to order the Pad Thai from there. It's very good. The delivery portion that I received was too small, so I don't know if I'll have it delivered again. The box doesn't hold as much as a dish? But it's a nice joint that has decent Thai food. Well, really I can't say much for the rest of the menu, as I only get Pad Thai, since it's my favorite Thai dish. But my coworkers I go with order other items and are happy with what they get.

Pink pepper is the go-to for a lot of our Ignited team members. The girls at our front desk have a few favorites: the sweet & sour chicken, mixed veggies & chicken, and the pad see ew. Pink Pepper's lunch specials are almost unbeatable - you get a full meal complete with salad, a spring roll, rice, and your main dish for about $10. It can get reeeeeeally busy during lunch time, so order ahead for takeout. It's got a nice sit-down vibe, some folks like to have business meetings there. On a nice day, the patio can be really lovely especially with a cool breeze and an iced tea. We mostly order takeout for lunch because you can order family-style or solo. We love our Pink Pepps!

So disappointing. We were looking forward to having dinner here based on previous reviews but the thai crusted salmon dish was served cold. Should have sent it back to be reheated. At least the Tom Kha Hai soup was warm and flavorful... Not sure we'll be back.

Four stars for Pink Pepper because lunch menu is great and reasonably priced, midweek and weekends. I really like Thai food and this place serves authentic Thai, my favorite being the chicken curry from the lunch menu. But on Sunday (not sure about the rest of the week) the kitchen isn't ready to cook until 12 noon most of the time ... Cook wants to sleep in late or something?

Tonight marked my third visit to this hidden treasure. I've driven right by it for years and never knew it was here. For starters, you must try the spicy wonton appetizer. One of the best things I've ever tasted. I'm also a huge fan of their yellow curry, teriyaki chicken, and brown rice. You simply can't go wrong! There's indoor and outdoor dining. Service is excellent! They're very attentive without being annoying. Your glass will never be empty, but you also won't have someone asking you if everything is okay after every bite you take. You know the kind, right? Like where you just want to throw your silverware and tell them your meal would be a lot better if they would just leave you the hell alone. You won't find that nonsense here. You must put this place on your list!

This is horrible!!! Man, talking about Prejudice service! This is the type of restaurant that should be closed and not exist Anymore! I just ordered food and they are treating me really badly! All I can say is that they are not getting a tip! Here's a Good Tip: Stop serving the Customers who seem Caucasian and stop discriminating other Ethnicities! This is ridiculous and seriously just needs to be gone! This is a horrible place to go! My Experience is horrible and I will never come back! Wasted 50 minutes for my food and it comes up to $21.23 wtf, This is just unacceptable and they are vegan friendly much! Oh btw, This is not a True vegetarian restaurant.... They are false advertising in Hollywood and man this is crazy!!

Ordered delivery. Paid $33 for chicken curry, white rice, pad see ew and a Thai tea. Took 30 minutes to get our food when we are .5 miles away. Chicken curry was delicious !! The only problem was there was only 3 pieces of chicken... 2 potatoes and 3 little baby carrots. The beef pad see eww was extremely delicious!!! Really recommend this! Only problem was that it was such a small portion. Thai tea was good. Overall this place is a bit pricey, portions are small, but food is yummy :)

This place is truly the best Thai food I have found in LA. I have had better, but it requires a rather lengthy plane ride to Thailand. They do some things GREAT, and other only really well. I've been going here for almost 20 years... At first mostly take out, then I moved out of the neighborhood, now we go for special occasions. Parking is a piece of cake in the structure, validation covers your meal with time to spare. Service is fine, they do a huge take out business and I think the waitresses bag everything, so tip the delivery guy well. One of the Best in LA, no doubt... I haven't tried them all, but of the 50+ I have tried... Always surprised they aren't slammed when I go to eat there

We did some research on thai places and surprisingly this was one of the few that had reservations available on Valentine's Day. We got there and were seated promptly and noticed the place to be a tad bit noisy due to low ceilings. They do have an outside seating area which would've been better tonight. It took 10 minutes to get someone to come over and take our order, and another 20 for the food to arrive. We ordered a Tom yum soup pot to share and it arrived with our entrees?!?! We had to rush through the soup to avoid our dishes from getting cold. So, the food is good but don't expect much in terms of service. It would've gotten 5 stars if not for the noise and slow service. On a good note, they do validate parking for the adjacent garage next door. Parking is a problem in the area..

This spot is close by my work so we would go here for lunch. Nothing too special here. The lunch specials are ok but not too cheap for the portion. Dinner portion's even worse since we tried it once and left hungry. Their thai tea/coffee isn't too good either. Service however is great. Really friendly servers.

Order the pa tai it was good but they hot my order wrong both times. I wanted the pa tai with both chicken and shrimp but the first time the bring the pa tai with only chicken and charge with pa tsi with shrimp. Second time only shrimp and made me wait another 20-25 min for my meal. All in all the food was good but service not do much.

I've had some disastrous Thai but I like this place, pad Thai was solid, Thai egg roles were pretty good, loved the curry wontons, I didn't like the angel wings but 3 out of 4 isn't bad! I'll order again

Pink Pepper is just as good today as it was the first time I tried it. Now I'm a big fan of their dynamite wings (which are SERIOUSLY spicy) and their chow mein is off the hook. It's not overly greasy and the sauce they cook the noodles in is tart and hearty. I actually dined in this time and the service was super friendly and on point and the inside of this place is clean and modern. They also serve beer here and a nice Singha beer goes great with their spicy curry wontons. My dude loves Thai food and he was really pleased with one of my favorite Thai spots in LA.

Are you afraid of spices? Have you never had Thai food? Are you looking for a place to eat that is several meters outside your office building and you're not terribly picky? Pink Pepper has exactly what you want. The food is safe and uninspired. How do I know? Thai Town is a few miles past Pink Pepper. Thai Town is the largest concentration of thai people in the entire nation. A great community with an assortment of fantastic restaurants. It's not hard to find. It's very easy to get fantastic Thai food in Los Angeles and places like Pink Pepper only survive as a result of location and tourism. Ironically a fantastic Thai restaurant, Pa Ord, is only a few blocks south of Pink Pepper but you know, how can you pass on spiceless boredom when it's so close to your office building or church. Positive note: the outdoor is seating is nice.

I usually do delivery and my family and I have been ordering from here for years. The food is always packed well and arrives hot. My favorite is their chicken curry. It's all white meat but the meat is not dried out at all. I can't think of anything I've had there that I didn't like. I like the green beans and eggplant as well. Oh, they have free parking when you eat in, and when they deliver they always throw in an order of spring rolls, but maybe that's because they like me ;)

The food really is good here, but the service is usually very bad, today however, it hasn't been too bad. I wonder if these reviews make it back to them. Of you won't get bent over lack of service, but you do like his Thai food, try Pink Pepper.

FANTASTIC Thai food. Efficient service and quality Thai. You've got to try to Yellow Curry. Amazing. Important to note that their heat scale is pretty Thai true...meaning the spicy is HOT! If you like the heat turned up but don't feel like sweating, go with medium heat. Also, the garlic green bean with chicken or tofu is rad for the health conscience.

NEVER EVER again TERRRRIIIBBLE SERVICE!!!! I decided to celebrate my Mother's birthday especially since she really "LIKED" this restaurant. We had a large party but they were not happy to see us. They did not greet us like they were greeting the other the guest. Forgot to put in two orders one which included of course the birthday person my Mother. My family was trying not to eat their food and wait for my Mothers but 45 minutes had passed and still no Pad Thai. When we brought this to their attention they seemed confused and really didn't care. Then the waitress realized they forgot to put the order in and to try and appease us by bringing us spring rolls for one when it was a party of fifteen. I immediately declined and asked that the plates that did not come out on time be removed from the bill. The waitress finally showed some emotion and she frowned up at me and responded if that's what makes you happy? (with a shoulder shrug) No it didn't make me happy but an apology, refreshing the waters ( We had to practically beg for water), lack of communication with putting in orders, and most important CUSTOMER SERVICE and being treated fairly. NEVER will I step foot in here, I work in a Hotel and will never recommend this place to guest. VERY DISSAPPOINTED!!!!!!!!

Authentic Thai Food in HOLLYWOOD? Delish! I live walking distance from Pink Pepper- They offer authentic Thai food and Thai Beer! I like Chang! Try it! The food is delicious, they are rarely super busy so service is fast & very courteous! Some of my favorite are -Yellow Curry with Brown Rice. Nice pieces of white chicken, potato, and carrot in a creamy, spice yellow curry sauce. -Pad-woon-sin noodles with chicken and shrimp -Pad-thai is delicious -Tom-Yum Soup warms your sweet belly. -Angel Wings- appetizer -Spicy wings- hot -Fried wontons are a great shared snack. -I love the Beef & Broccoli noodles! -Thai Iced Tea Give this place a try- They have parking right behind the alley located on Labrea Blvd. Don't forget to bring it in for validation. Let me know if you have been here, and what dish you really like!

The food here is really good - 4 stars and one of the best Thai locations in Hollywood. BUT THE SERVICE IS AWFUL. They just don't understand how to deal with customers. For example: I've been waiting nearly an hour and a half for a delivery order, no call from the staff to explain why. Called them and a driver had an accident earlier tonight. OK. Then call. Why is that hard to understand? I've gone into the restaurant before and had to wait quite a while just to get a glass of water. Occasionally, the service lives up to the food. It's like a bad relationship - if only they'd change this one thing, they might be perfect! Also, they took the Thai bbq chicken off the menu. That stuff was awesome.

It's really a hit or miss. Three stars is appropriate for this place. I come here often for lunch with colleagues because it's close to work and the food is decent. The lunch special includes an egg roll and salad, but the main entree portion is smaller than regular price, so it really doesn't feel like a deal. The flavor of the dishes are average at best. I usually get the prik king because it's just string beans and a protein. But yesterday I tried something new and was sorely disappointed. I had the chicken and shrimp egg noodle dish. Omg, it was like chewing on an old leather shoe. No flavor. The service is generally good, but they recently changed staff with new servers so everything took extra long. Come here for average food and service.

Delicious food, TERRIBLE service. The best thing to do is order when you're not hungry. By the time they get around to serving or delivering your food, you'll be hungry.

After three years of living in LA--one of those years being in Thai Town--this restaurant is definitely my favorite in the Thai category! Every dish I've tried has been delicious and the service and staff are spot on. My favorites are the coconut shrimp, dynamite wings, pad thai, and poached curry salmon. This place is also lovely for a date :)

There was a day when I had a horrid cold. A cold that no matzo ball soup would cure, but then a friend said "You have to try this soup at Pink Pepper, it clears up anything." I thought back to my college days, and remembered that I had the inclination for a full bowl of egg drop soup when I was feeling the start of a cold. Maybe there was some merit to this? Maybe it was just in my head too, but hey, it didn't hurt to try! Located just south of Hollywood Boulevard, with validated parking, Pink Pepper has become the most commonly ordered Thai cuisine that my local friends will try or recommend. It could be the late hours or possibly this so-called "cure-all" soup? The Tom Yum Gai with Chicken, a version of spicy hot and sour soup, is a hearty little meal within itself. Order a large, and get set to endeavor into a tart and spicy bowl where you can actually taste the lime and chili. Chicken, mushrooms, cilantro, and lemongrass stalks swirl around each spoonful and you'll find yourself tilting the bowl up to get those last few drops of broth. For me, the tart enlivened my taste buds and the spice brought it thoroughly across the palate. It's a subtle blend, but when I'm feeling unwell, I can still taste all of it. Does it help? Well, tasting food again supports the belief!

I go here a lot and have tried many different things everything I have had is great. I don't think that that there is one menu item that is not good. They are fast and the food come out hot. I compare every other Thai restaurants food to Pink Peppers.

Best Thai in the area. I usually get the curry chicken but I've had many other amazing dishes. The soup is great. The service is great. The portions are big. One of my all around favorites.

OK- After seeing a lot of antsy people writing reviews about the food here, I went because my friend goes here regularly as it is near where she lives. I was hesitant...but then there is this: It was good people. OK, so here's what we had--the Pad Woon Sen Noodles... make that 2 of them because we split each one twice...and 2 glasses of wine a piece. And my friend is (in her words) Irish, ghetto can hold-her-own alcohol drinker... and yeah I'm the Brit equiv. of this (minus the ghetto... I can't lay claim to this because I went to this school called Berkeley Hall up on Mulholland as a kid) ANYway...the second Pad Woon Sen we had with Tofu and shrimp (trying not to do the shell fish anymore but hey, it didn't happen tonight)- it was great as described with bean noodles (like the thin glass ones) and was stir fried in a light olive oil upon request. I don't know where some of these other Thai couture cats are eating, but this is a good restaurant at a good price with free ( for 2 hours) parking that is easy to get to. I don't know what the one dude was itchin' about not being able to get to the garage unless maybe the night he was going there was a special night at the club next door which made the body count near the parking garage a PITA to park in, I dunno. And as for the decor "trying to hard" ...wtf? Listen, some guy or couple that owns the joint has their own artistic taste, they have a pretty great painting on the wall that no one's particularly seen before that looks like Einstein's head blew up in Nirvana. A good thing people. Only rec. I have for the owners is get new booth faux leather... the cracked look that looks like the inside of a leopard rain coat is a little velvet to have to sit on. Go here. Eat here. Be Merry for whatever sake.... namely your own. Cheers. ER

Best ever. I drive from Orange County to eat here. This Thai food changed my whole opinion of Thai food. Noodles are perfect. Vegetables crisp. Sauces are amazing. I live to order the pad Thai here. The waitress we have had has been friendly and fast. Pull into alley and park in structure. Take ticket with you. Worth it. A walk away from Amoeba Records.

Just mediocre food for the price tag. They validate your parking ticket if you park in the garage next to the restaurant. We order the spicy noodle and sweet and sour or something like that. The spicy noodle was really spicy.

Searching for the best thaifood in Hollywood back in 2005 while visiting we stumbled upon this great litte place on the corner of Hollywood Blvd and La Brea. The freshness of the food as well as the punch in the use of spices was just to die for. Has been back a couple of times since and now recently it was on a westcoastroundtrip in sep. I skipped the appetizer and ordered two of my favourites on the Pink Pepper that never dissapints wich was the beef with garlic & peppersauce and the beef Panang. Finished of the lean and tender pieces of steak covered in the devine garlic/peppersause in just a few minutes and it was as good as always. Saved the beef Panang wich is my no 1 dish for last and it was so good i almost cried. Creamy and spicy sauce with lots of flavors and a steak that felt like they had cut down a fine piece of filé mignon in this thai goodness. In 3 weeks visiting Thailand i never had anything this high in quality and taste. Just bland food (if you dont specifically say thaispicy that is.....) with quality of beef and chicken that doesnt come close to this. My company had the Pad Thai wich was ok but not more. This place is all about the curries people!!! The pricerange is very good. Appetizers at arount 8 $ and mains and curries 9-12 $ roughly. Soda with free refills at 2 $ and a ice cold Singha is 3,50 $. If you love thai dont miss this place in the heart of hollywood. Its top notch!

I love this place.. My favorite on there menu is the crab fried rice as well as there spicy spinich. I am never disappointed with there food. I will say that there dinner prices are very expensive.. but if you like great Thai food it's worth it!! Favorite Thai in Los angeles.

They charged my card yesterday on New Year's Day online, I waited an hour and a half for my food, called and got a message they were busy and couldn't pick up the phone, drove down there, and saw they were closed. I just called to tell them what happened and they weren't apologetic, did nothing to make up for inconveniencing me and lost a regular customer. There are a million Thai places in town and this one's over priced. They're bad people.

I have ordered a number of times from this restaurant and work two blocks away - At first I liked their food and their service but I have been disappointed in their service the last few times! I waited for two hours for food that I had ordered. On top of that, they promised the food would be here soon after. When I got my food half of the order was missing and was left at the restaurant....instead of a speedy solution, they took ANOTHER HOUR to deliver the food they mistakenly left behind. I am so disappointed in their customer service and their lack of problem solving by the restaurant's management.

A staple in Hwood for Thai, but not going to get my business anymore. Ordered food for delivery one block away and after an hour and forty minutes, no sign of the delivery. Tried calling and was redirected to a voice answering service over the course of another 20 minutes. Called bank to cancel charge. Then the driver shows up. It is a block away! I couldn't walk there because was in the middle of a video shoot. The food was fine. Nothing special. Then I get a call at 11 pm saying if they don't hear from me they will charge my card the full amount (fine because I said I was going to pay some cash and didnt). But she was really abrupt and kinda rude. The soup must have MSG cuz of what it did to my stomach. Lol. Sorry wish I didn't have to post all this, but the lack of any acknowledgement on their part for terrible service was just too much. Palms Thai is my new go to.

I would not have known about this place if I weren't taken here for lunch by a friend. Not a lot of curb appeal. There *is* parking, but its a pain. Expect to spend around 10 minutes round trip going to and fro the parking garage if you don't work nearby. My friend touted their lunch special. He kindly forgot to mention when it ended, so we lollygagged our way in, 10 minutes after the deadline. Now, I understand: rules are rules. But there exist such things as opportunity costs in business. Given the circumstances - we were the only patrons in the restaurant and one of those patrons (moi) was new - it would seem beneficial to still offer the special. Positive word of mouth is more valuable than an extra $5-10 we were charged. Instead of hearing from me how generous and sincere and won-over I was, and that they should be considered over the innumerable Thai restaurants in Hollywood - there is even a district called Thai Town if you can believe it - you are left reading my utter disappointment in not being treated special. A customer, thinks the Pink Pepper, is a wallet that pays the rent. Notes: -the decor startled me. And not in a good way. I know this is Hollywood, but I found the vain attempts at trendiness to be ridiculous. I think it's supposed to placate out-of-state white people who are only comfortable eating meat and potatoes. On the other hand, I prefer eating at restaurants with tables that don't wobble and that don't have linoleum flooring installed in the mid-80's. I guess that extra $2.50 per dish to cover the decor is offset then. -food is unremarkable. Coupled with the pain-in-the-ass-parking, and heavily trafficked locale, I can't recommend trying it.

Horrible customer service!!! Better yet no customer service. Ordered delivery online and Waited for over 2 hours. When I called 3 times during that time period, they said the food was on the way. The last time I called, they finally said they hadn't even gotten the order or made the food. Then they proceeded to tell me that they wouldn't deliver it for free an that they don't have customer service. DEFINITELY not ordering from there anymore.

    (1)
  • Randy M.

I have to say I have become less and less impressed with Pink Pepper. While their food is typically good, their customer service is lacking. They clearly don't care about customer retention. The past few orders have arrived way late and sometimes cold, when we call they give no excuse and their solution is to come pick up the food on your own, granted they don't offer you that until you've sat around to wait for the food 45 min to an hour later telling you that it will be another 25-30 min for the food to arrive. In this day and age they are a dime a dozen, so it's time to take our business elswhere. This will be the last time I order from them period.

My two american friends would like to try this place with a very high expectation. it turn out to be one of the worst overall experience by our server. (short hair tanned lady) I wish i know her name. Me and my friends love the decor, the food and everything but she ruin everything. My friends are foodies who would like to try this place but they were very disappointed from her service. Im here in the usa to work with thai embassy and been craving for thai food for a while. Thx to her to show me and my friend how to treat customer especially thai customer. and thx to her that we will never go back to this place again. she might think that im a thai money boy taking two of my customers to dinner. if that true, she has to fix her attitude. Even im a homeless who bringing her money, she still have to service us properly. all three of us dress and behave in all proper manner, we are not picky or bitchy customer who deserve to be treated like what she did to us. In every relationship need a certain level of respectation, she has to respect her customer more since we 've already respect her as our server. one star for her but 4 star for the rest.

My experience is that the food is inconsistent. Flavor and portions vary every time I order. It was always a go to for delivery out of sheer convenience. Now that they recently quit doing delivery I will no longer eat here. It's fine in a pinch, but certainly not a destination.

Decent food - and poor service indeed, but I'd like to focus this review on their chicken wings, which are not very good. I wish they would switch to a higher-quality or non-frozen chicken. I could only finish about two of them. The skin is ultra-rubbery and unappetizing, and overall they have a weird texture. I definitely do not recommend the chicken wings, unless they somehow decide to fix them at a later date.

I work next door to pink pepper and have been coming here for years. I have to say the staff is great and the food is exceptional. They have a great lunch menu that you really cannot beat. It comes with a entree, salad, spring roll and is truly one of the best deals in the area for good quality food. Sometimes I stop by for a Thai Iced tea and I have to say it is great.

Their Yellow Curry(chicken curry) and Soy Sauce Noodles are phenomenal. I have tried many things on the menu that these two are by far the best. Beware The Curry is actually spicy when you order it hot... and its even better that way

Food is just ok and isn't anything really special, like others have mentioned - there are a ton of other thai places around. Not terribly accomadating...I happen to like coconut milk on the side to add to my Tom Yum. I suppose that is just my American palette? Not really your place to judge, snotty hostess/waitress girl. Speaking of, service is unfriendly and rude. That's what really drives my rating down. And they don't keep the hours they post. Today they opened 30 minutes late.

  • Nona S.

I've been ordering from Pink Peppers for many years. Today I'm so disappointed. I ordered dynamite wings and it had a horrible smell. They smelled spoiled. I spoke with someone who said they're the owner and argued with me saying they're a new batch of wings. I told him he should throw them away because someone is going to get food poison. I also said I want my money back. He said he'll come to my house and prove that it's just the spices. By this time I'm really upset be cause I almost served them to my non verbal autistic child. My son might have eaten the chicken regardless of the smell. I wanted to make sure I wasn't over reacting, so I went to a neighbor's and she said the smelled awful. I'm so angry with this restaurant and how the owner spoke to me. It's been over 30min. I live one block from the restaurant and they still haven't come yet.

This Thai restaurant has been in my top 3 for some time now, but I'm happy to tell u it has now claimed TOP. I have never had a bad meal here- tonight I had the royal shrimp, then the Prik Khing , then the Spicy Noodles. All were awesome! The seating capacity may be limited, the parking can be a nightmare sometimes.. but in all its worth it..

I've been getting their menu in my mailbox for sometime now, but I've never had any luck with ordering from places who spam my mailbox. But I was in the mood for some sweet and sour so I thought I'd give them a try. I had no idea I would need a United Nations Headset to communicate with them. I was told it would take 40 minutes, which was fine because it was around the dinner hour and I figured there might be other orders ahead of me, however they were here in like 15 minutes, which was shocking.........was this food fresh? Driver: "there is no parking!! Come get you food. I up the street." Me: "No, I asked for delivery." Driver: "Ok I cancel order" I put my UN Headset back on and called and I was told "So sorry. We make fresh again for you." In the end it took over 45 minutes. What the freak happened to customer service? Their staff are RUDE and this is me being very nice and the food was just OK. I've had better from the frozen food section at the 99 cent store

If I could I would give cero stars for customer service! My first time ordering from here was hell. They took an hour and 15 to deliver. When the delivery guy arrived he needed the actual credit card to drop the food off. I completely understand the fraud issues etc.. So since I ordered online for my sick sister and I was not at the delivery location I called the manager right away. So I waited and waited on hold on the phone until the manager was found. The manager did nothing to fix the issue (even though the online page does not clarify they need to see the actual card for delivery) but on top of all, he tried to twist the situation saying I order directly by phone and they told me I needed to show them the card! Long story short he ended up hanging up the phone! What kind of customer service is that?! Im so disappointed. The product may be great, but if people are not treated with respect is a NO-NO for me.

Stopped in here with a friend of mine for lunch. Thai isn't really high on my list of favorite cuisines, but I tried the Prik Khing lunch special. Amazing...great spice and kick, but very flavorful. I'd come here again. Service was good and efficient. And the prices are right.

One of my favorite places for lunch! I love having the Teriyaki Salmon lunch special. It's a fairly large piece of salmon, and you can have it with brown rice. I've been trying to eat healthier, and this place makes it a lot easier! :)

Everything is so delicious at Pink Pepper. I love the Tom Kha soup and all of their curries. You really can't go wrong, and if you need delivery, they are very reliable -- even for large groups.

I can see how, if you are a spicy food fiend, you might be disappointed here. But for freshness of ingredients and subtlety of flavor, Pink Pepper is surprisingly satisfying. Surprising not only because of the lukewarm Yelp average, but because of the complete lack of other customers on a Monday night at 6:30. Our table of six ordered spicy shrimp salad, a whole BBQ chicken, spinach and mushroom stirfry, vegetable spicy noodles, and catfish curry. The shrimp salad was, well, it was lemongrassy. I love lemongrass and will happily take it on anything. If you don't, don't order this dish. My mom was like, "what does this remind me of?" and I was like "those single-wrapped moist towelettes" and she was like, "YEAH, THAT!" but I seriously didn't mean it as a diss. I like the taste of the smell of moist towelettes, i.e. lemongrass, and I'm proud of it. Also, the shrimp was really fresh, which helped. The BBQ chicken was very tender, but a little sweet for my tastes and I wish they had left on more of the skin. You definitely do not need to use the sweet and sour-like sauce they provide unless you prefer your chicken to taste like candy. I much preferred the curry salmon, a very coconutty rendition with tender fish, and the spicy noodles, definitely not the best version I've had but still satisfyingly wok-charred. I'm in between 3 and 4 on this one, but I'm feeling magnanimous because A) they bombarded me with two of my favorite flavors, coconut and lemongrass, B) they cooked everything exactly right, and C) I'm writing this slightly delayed from Seoul, South Korea, and as such, this will be my last Yelp review for a couple months, seeing as how Yelp has for some reason not expanded operations to any Asian countries (hint hint, Yelp). Until then, dear reader(s)!

Went there to grab a quick lunch with some friends and the lunch specials menu was very convenient. I got the Chicken Panang Curry lunch special, with a Thai Iced tea. My friend had never tried Thai Iced Tea before, and her face pretty much lit up when she tasted it. Good food, fast service and well priced. Not sure how authentic it is as far as thai food goes though.

Came here for a birthday celebration with some yelpers - Ed A, Nelson F, James S, Bridget P, JR C, Andre N, Phillip N, and the fiance for MY birthday! FOOD: Chicken Larb - salad - pretty good. Got it level 8 spicy but it was NOT spicy at all. :/ But the flavors were really nice! Tom Yum Goon: She actually told me a lot of Thais order this and so I figured, ok! Let's order it and it was REALLY good. Not spicy but SO good. This is good here. Beef Salad - I don't eat beef Curry Salmon - she said a lot of Thais order this so I ordered it and it was good. Not spicy again, but good flavors. Panag Curry: My favorite - it was alright. It wasn't spicy... :/ I need my own level. Pad Thai Chicken - pretty standard. Drunken Noodles - Mmmmm MY FAVORITE. :D SERVICE: Excellent service from Tiew! She was SO sweet! Very attentive and patient with me when asking her lots of questions. We brought our own drinks and they let us drink it with a $8 charge? I don't remember but if you bring your own, you will get charged. My friends brought me a cake and it was no charge from the restaurant (some places charge you). PARKING: Structure in the back - free with validation. THANKS: To everyone who went! Thanks so much for the wonderful memories! I loved it!!! :D OVERALL: It's not bad. Come by.

I am sitting here in a booth and have been waiting 45 minutes for my order. This place has the worst service of any restaurant in Dallas, Boston, and New York. All of which I've lived in for 4+ years. Awful.

Came here on Sunday night for a birthday dinner for 9. Great food, service, and experience all around! This group was a particularly quirky group, so any restaurant gets extra points for putting up with us. I'll explain. We started with some sake, and the birthday girl ordered 7 dishes for us so that we could have a variety. Unfortunately, I didn't know all the names, but it was a great place to order lots of food family-style and pass it around to share. What I DO remember was the curry salmon. Sooooooo good! We loved it so much that 3 of us scraped the rest of the sauce off the place to eat with rice. Salmon was perfectly cooked and flaky, and the red sauce was so rich and flavorful. I'd go back just for that. The other food we tried was good, but this place was special to me because of the service. Our waitress hid the birthday cake for me, brought it out and lit the candles herself, and seemed to really want to help us make it a fun dinner for the birthday girl. We asked if we could bring our own classy cups that we made (please see s3-media2.ak.yelpcdn.com… ..... elegunce, y'all!) and they were totally fine with it. We popped 2 bottles of our own champagne for $8 corkage fee each, and no cake plating fee. Overall, we paid $18 each including the corkage, sake, 7 dishes split, and other non-alki drinks, which I'd say was a good deal! They didn't mind our "classy" cups or behavior, loudness, or celebrating.... the staff was so friendly and accomodating and just wanted us to have fun. Nice decor, ambiance, and lighting, and we didn't feel out of place in our formal clothes (for an event afterward). Even though it's so close to the busy area of Hollywood, it was tucked away enough to feel secluded from the craziness. 2-hour parking validated in the lot behind the restaurant. Thank you, Pink Pepper, for helping to make our birthday girl feel special!

This is just around the corner from my office, and I'd walked past it a hundred times before finally deciding to go in - I shouldn't have bothered. Although the restaurant is nicely presented, the staff were abrupt and the food was overly salty. It seemed busy enough with a lunchtime crowd - but certainly not packed - so there must be some repeat business, but based on my experience, I'm not too sure why. The Thai Ice Tea was about the nicest thing from our order, but that's not exactly the hardest to prepare. I could give Pink Pepper the benefit of the doubt and return for a second visit, but I doubt that'll happen. It's not terrible, but it's just not worth it either.

After searching yelp for Thai restaurants in my area that deliver I came across pink pepper. They have a great menu with a variety of items to choose from. I highly recommend the green curry, spicy beff salad and spicy noodles. All the food I tried was flavorful and cooked to perfection. It's not greasy like some other places I've tried. The delivery time is reasonable as well as the prices.

This place has really great food. I work right around the corner and go here often for lunch. Everything I have had here is super tasty (and I've had almost everything on the menu). The meat is always high quality (the meat isn't always the best quality at Asian restaurants or a lot of 'dark' meat is used). The only reason I give this 4 stars instead of 5 is because the service is always really bad. Slow and unorganized. If they got it together, this place would be perfect!

I could wax poetic about their tom yum koong with shrimp all day long. no joke, it's currently the wallpaper photo on my phone. when I lived down the street I used to order a hot pot of this heavenly soup once a week and now any chance I get while in hwood I stop here for a bowlful of deliciousness. pad see ew is always perfectly prepared. crisp broccoli, plump and juicy shrimp. it's as good as it gets. I wish I could say I've tried the curry or any of their other tempting dishes, but I'm a creature of habit and these 2 dishes are my mainstay.

Ive ordered regularly form Pink Pepper over the last couple years but they've really gone downhill. The food always tasted decent even tough you only get about half the amount of curry in an order than pretty much any other Thai place Ive ordered from. But I'll never be ordering from them again. Here's why: 1. Their online ordering service steals credit cards. This may not be their fault directly but it's happened 3 times (once with me and twice with my fiance). Each time we ordered with a credit card from the online ordering and less than a week later, we are getting a call from our bank that there may have been fraudulent charges which there were so we have to cancel the card and get a new one. The last time this happened was a week after getting the new card and the only other charge on it had been at work in the commissary which MIGHT be at fault but unlikely. 2. They used to deliver really fast, 30-45 minutes MAX. The last few times I ordered from them required calling them over an hour after the order to check in and be told its on the way and then getting the order about 15 minutes later. Kind of anoying as its EVERY time now. 3. Last but not least, the final straw. This last Monday I ordered my usual with my fiance. 1 Hour and 15 minutes go by, so once again we make the call to check where the food is. No answer. We wait 5 minutes and call again, they answer and say the driver is on his way already with the order. Cut to 30 minutes later, still no delivery (They , and now calling the restaurant again, they refuse to answer the phone. About 8 calls later, very hungry at this point, we finally give up and leave and go get dinner at Fatburger as it's the only thing left open nearby besides the standard fast food drive-thru given that it is now 2.5 hours after we placed the order and it's now 1030pm. To top it off, as we were finishing eating at Fatburger, the friggin delivery driver calls my cell saying he's outside my place, haha wtf? I sent him back to the restaurant, I wasnt even home anymore to pay him for what was surely old cold food anyway.

This restaurant has been my favorite Thai food delivery for the past 10+ years. I'm not sure if they have gone through management or ownership changes but the quality, and the amount of errors have continued to rise over the last three years. Tonight I thought I would give them another try after a year's break. I made numerous attempts pronouncing and spelling my street name Orlando Ave. After about 10 minutes, I finally hung up and decided it was going to be easier to cook dinner. I don't understand why any restaurant would have someone taking orders who cannot clearly communicate. They could have at least suggested an alternative method for me to transmit my order. Sorry Pink Pepper, that was my last attempt! You are off my list.

Decent insofar as delivery Thai food goes, but there are plenty of other good Thai restaurants in the area. Angel Wings were good if a little bland. Most of the dishes were bland. Not exactly cheap for what you get. On the plus side, deliveries arrive quickly and delivery drivers are friendly.

I have been to almost all thai food restaurants around this area (Thai town restaurants/Thai Foon/Toi On Sunset/Sanzab/Kinaree Thai Bistro) this is by far the worse Thai restaurant. I am not sure if I can even call it Thai food at all! I ordered at dinner time for Beef Green Curry $9.95, and tofu Mixed Vegetable $8.50 to go. Both dishes did not come with rice. I thought they forgot so I call them to see they maybe forgot to include the rice, guess what. the guy on the phone told me those didn't come with rice and most of the thai restaurant around this area didn't serve curry with rice. I can't believe they just lied and thought I was some kind of idiot. Who eats curry without rice? So i just drink them? What a joke! The food taste is nothing special. It tastes just like every other Thai restaurant with higher price and smaller portion. What a shame. Charge so much but neither the portion nor the taste came even close to its price. Whoever think this is the best thai food restaurant around the area I would suggest you try those thai restaurants in thai town or Sanzab (just few block away) before they make such statement. This is definitely NO NO NO way. All the thai restaurants around this area are CHEAPER than this one and ALL serve curry with rice. I won't be back there again.

Every time I walked by this place it was empty which was not a good sign - but thought i'd give it a shot anyways. Went with the medium Penang curry which was actually one of the better curries i've had - thick, rich, but not too heavy. However, a bit disappointed I had to order the rice separately. Service was mediocre at best - staff was not attentive and never asked how our food was even though we were the only ones in the restaurant... 4 stars for food, 2 stars for service and atmosphere - balancing out to a 3 overall.

I have dined at some of the best restaurants in the country (Gary Danko, Providence, Tavern On The Green). Pink Pepper has some dishes that are right up there with the best restaurants in the country. The Pink Pepper rolls and Curry Wontons are both to die for. If Pink Pepper ever closes I will be extremely sad. You must try these wontons, they will bring your taste buds to a new level.

I really enjoy coming to this restaurant for Thai food and always recommend this place for groups when we meet in Hollywood or are looking for good Thai food. It's as good as Thai town a few miles away, and is owned by Thai owners. It's never let me down, and I've been coming here for a while since it's located just a half a mile away from magic castle. Besides the food, a huge perk is free validated 2 hr parking next door so you don't waste 15 min looking for street parking. The food is really good and pretty inexpensive. The latest venture we ordered the chicken larb appetizer, Tom Yung Koong with shrimp soup, spicy beef salad, the Curry Salmon chef special (which was awesome!), panang curry, pad thai noodles with chicken, and one other dish. We had a large party with us (9 total) and there was plenty of food to go around. In addition, we had 2 bottles of sake and paid less than $20 each!! A total Hollywood miracle if I ever saw one. Service was very warm and excellent too. Will come back again.

My table ordered like 8 dishes including the Gulf of Siam, Thai BBQ Chicken, Spicy fried rice, Pad Thai, and the Singapore Noodles and everything was good. The Singapore Noodles were by far the best! The Gulf of Siam was a little disappointing because the description said it included scallops, fish, and mussels.....but it was mostly just mussels and veggies. Still good. My only criticism would be that the waitresses were a little rude. Make sure you ask about portion sizes because they do vary (greatly) dish to dish. Luckily everything is served family style.

There is a lady who works there that is so rude if you order for take out. My girlfriend ordered once. She immediately called back to change the order. Rude lady over the phone told her it was too late as the item was already made and she would still be charged. I kid you not my girlfriend called back within one minute. Up until that point the entire attempt at ordering food was very difficult as the lady was just a nightmare. I remember watching my girlfriend talk to this lady and laughed the whole time because I couldn't believe it. It wasn't funny when my girlfriend hung up and then started to cry. That's when I realized how messed up that lady actually was. We've eaten in a few times and the food was pretty good, service not so much. Will definitely never order for pick up again and that lady who works the phones left such a bad taste that I doubt I'll dine in again either.

Worst service ever. I unfortunately kept ordering for them thinking it will be better but was wrong. Placed an order for delivery after over an hour I called they were rude to me ... They were not even done making my order...I asked for an ETA so I can see I'd I can wait or cancel ... Person literally suggested for me to cancel! That's not good business ethics. I rather pay a couple bucks more and order Chan Dara from now on!

I was really shocked by the food here. Very good. I had chicken pad thai. The thai iced tea was basically amazing. I was really hungry though so I wonder if it had some influence on the whole meal. I'd give the place a 4, but the service was really horrible....

If you're ever craving Chinese food, just come into Pink Pepper instead. The food is always delicious and well presented. The atmosphere is perfect for a quiet meal with friends or a date. The girls working are nice and I'm always happy to see them. My favorites: Thai BBQ Chicken, and the Roasted duck. Keep in mind that it is easy to miss when driving by.

Pink Pepper has always been around the corner from my apartment, and I only recently started eating there after hearing numerous recommendations from friends and locals. I ordered the Chicken Yellow Curry and Chicken Pad Thai, with a side of White Rice. Ordering by phone for pickup was fast and easy, and the person on the other end of the line was helpful and courteous. The price was very reasonable for large servings and generous portions of meat. The pad thai was a little sticky for my taste, but the curry was fantastic (tender and savory!), with just the right amount of spice in both dishes. I've sampled a few Thai restaurants in Los Angeles, and Pink Pepper is definitely at the top of my list. I will be returning to try more of their extensive menu and perhaps even enjoy their cozy dining room!

I have ordered from Pink Pepper several times in the past, and until last night found the quality of their food to be very good and their service to be adequate. Last night, however, whatever woman they had working the phone orders was absolutely the RUDEST person I have ever encountered in a restaurant setting. Our order was simple, I confirmed with my boyfriend afterwards that I had sounded friendly, this should have been a no-brainer. Instead she was rude, impatient, and tried to hang up on me without giving me a total or a delivery time. After over an hour of waiting when she had said 40-45 minutes, I called back and nicely said I wanted to just check in on our order since we hadn't received it yet. This is when she barked at me that it was on it's way and HUNG UP ON ME. I also have to say that the food last night was not as good as usual, but I would still be willing to give it one more shot if it hadn't been for the awful service and complete rudeness of the woman on the phone. In a town with this many good Thai restaurants I see no reason to patronize a business that treats its customers like that. I'm really not a complainer but this was just too much.

I've been coming to Pink Pepper for about three years and I love their food. I recently discovered their Noodle Salad and that's definitely a new favorite. When I dine in the service isn't so great and they don't have free refills for fountain drinks which is kind of unusual but despite that it's a good experience because the food is always good.

BEST Thai Food I've had in LA. Seriously tasted like the food we ate while we were in Bangkok--it was legit. Get the yellow curry. The chicken is the delicious, moist and flakey kind that just falls apart on your plate--Not that junky rubbery kind you're used to getting. The singapore noodles were to die for as well. Price was certainly right as well. GREAT find!

I went to visit friends in Hollywood three times and every single time I went I would come to the Pink Pepper. Oh my god this place is delicious! It's some of the best Thai food I've ever had. This place has decent food but quite possibly some of the worst service I've ever encountered. Today was the second chance, first time our company ordered lunch it took almost two hours to get to us. Today we ordered from their site, paid, and waited almost two hours. We called and they never received our order even though we got a confirmation through their site. Skip this place, it's a nightmare.

Best yellow curry lunch special around. I LOVE this place so much and would frequent it when I worked in Hollywood. The lunch special is under $10 (good for the area...) and it great on portions and flavor. I've never actually ate inside, but it's a very intimate and beautifully decorated interior.

At first I didn't like Pink Pepper. I thought it was some overpriced non authentic thai food place. I stayed away for a whole year while working in the area. Then one day it rained and I had no choice but to order since it was the closest to me. The first few times I was disappointed. The portions are SMALL and the price is painful to your wallet. I stopped ordering from this place for a while until earlier this year. I was hooked on their "Tom Kha Koong" (coconut shrimp soup). I was ordering it every day for 2 months straight. One day, I ordered it and it just didn't seem to taste all that good anymore so I stopped. The soup was about $5.50 with tax. So I moved on to Pad Thai.....OMG....I was hooked again. I was eating that damn noodles almost every day. They practically know me over there since I order the same thing over and over again. Service is okay. I always do phone orders but every time someone takes my order they are all nice. Sometimes this place gets crazy busy but other times they are slow. It looks fairly clean in there and I like the little center pieces they put on each table. Kind of brings color to the place. Despite the crazy prices, I really like there food. Certain food that is....i still can't believe I pay about $12/a day for Pad Thai. I know I'm crazy but it's the only thing I like eating over there. One day I need to stop cold turkey on Pink Pepper but it's hard having to work next door when all you smell is the yummy food they cook and it fills the air as you walk to the parking structure. I'm only giving it a 4 star because the prices are insane!

I ordered the sampler appetizer. The chicken with the shrimp mixed together, fried in the shape of a chicken leg was disgusting. It made me almost sick just looking at it, I don't know why I even tried it. The wontons were over fried, burnt on the edges and had barely any filling. The satay was the only good item. My friend had the teriyaki chicken and white rice, the teriyaki chicken was dry and bland. I will not be eating here again.

Wahhhh, so many 1-2 stars. I'm from NorCal so I guess I'm a bit easier to please. Just kidding. :) Anyways, a bunch of friends came here when we were super hungry and cold. The restaurant had a nice ambiance! It had a nice Thai style door and paintings and stuff. I wanted the Chicken Curry (Yellow curry with chicken and so on) but I'm allergic to peanuts and it was pre-made with peanuts so I had to choose Green Curry. Man, that was so good! I got it with Jasmine Steamed Rice and ahhh, so delicious. My friend got a steak, and man that was the best steak I've ever had. Crab Fried Rice was good too! This review is for the restaurant dine-in and since I don't live in LA to order delivery, I can't say much about that. I'm sure you won't go wrong if you come here for a dine-in service!

This review is for their home-delivery service. I have not visited the actual restaurant (and I will never do so, after this experience). - Online ordering experience: A We placed our order via their web-page on a Thursday evening at 20:27. Also, we were able to pay online. The ordering procedure was very convenient. After paying, a message popped up saying that the delivery would take around 30 mins. - Delivery: F When the food had not arrived after 1h 15 minutes we called the restaurant. The person in the phone was a bit rude (hung up in my ear) but that I can understand, on (what might have been) a busy night. Food arrived 1h 40 minutes after our ordering, altough we live max 7 minutes drive from the restaurant. Also: no knives, forks, chopstix or napkins was included. - Food: F 1.) Luke-warm when it arrived. 2.) Not in accordance with what we ordered: My b/f wanted "just below very spicy" but got his dish "mild" (this is actually printed out on the reciept). I did not get the vegetables in my rice that I ordered. - Payment: F They overcharged my card with 2,50. Not a huge amount but feels like I have been giving them an additional tip which is completely undeserved. In sum: do not order from Pink Pepper! I wish I hadn't.

It's hard to find good Thai in this particular area of Hollywood, but Pink Pepper is definitely the best option without having to drive to the Sunset Strip. Here's what I had: -The pink pepper rolls are cold and sort of sponge-y with big chunks of tofu in them. Considering that they're the restaurant's name-sake dish, I had high expectations but they were not that delicious unfortunately. -The chicken and veggie dumplings can't be made with just veggies, so I didn't get to try these. Boo. -The Pad Thai is edible, but not mind-blowingly good. I couldn't really taste the egg or the peanut, which are my favorite parts of the dish. The portion size was perfect though, not too much but not too little where you're still hungry afterwards. -The pineapple fried rice: also a 'meh'! The bright spot to Pink Pepper is that the decor is very cute, and there is an outdoor patio. I also didn't have any problem with the service, as other reviews have stated. Our waitress was nice and fairly speedy. And considering it's around the corner from me, I will probably be back. Although, I will definitely be trying other things on the menu.

Great food. It's not super authentic, it's convincing though, and it is a little bit of a fresh take on what things "should" be. The Thai hot wings are tough and should be avoided but the Tom Yum is pretty tasty and is legitimately spicy. The service requires patience, but food is delivered in a timely and accurate way. I recommend it.

I came here for a birthday dinner for one of the closest people that I have gotten to known in a surprisingly short period of time. Everyone who attended have bonded so seamlessly so fast that we would share such an amazing intimate birthday dinner for one of our own. 9 people splitting a meal for only $18 that included corkage fee(2x), sake, and the food itself I say we got away with the best bang for your buck in town! Oh did I mention that we went to the the Magic Castle afterwards? Yeah, the birthday girl probably had the best birthday ever! Without confusing all the names since our designated Thai speaker ordered everything in Thai, I would say that all the food was pretty damn great. The meats we had was very flavorful and we had an option of how spicy we wanted our dish but gauging the other people's spice level we went with medium. I am sure if I were to go by myself or with a date, that I knew could handle it, I would go high on the spice level. Shout outs to Nelson F. for allowing us be your guest to the Magical Castle and telling us about this place. Bridget P. and JR C. for making it a special night with our pimp chalice and your social greatness. Ed A. and Andre N. its never a dull moment with these two. Great seeing you again Philip, our designated photographer for the evening. Laura's fiance is a very lucky guy (Laura show him this). Finally, the woman of the hour Miss Laura S. you have brought together such a tight knit group in a very short amount of time and we have a lifetime of memories to look back on to laugh about. Also, Laura ordered all our meals in Thai, thats hot! would I be back? This certainly has gotten to my go to Thai places whenever I am in this side of town. My other place on that special list is Ruen Pair, c'mon get your face melted with the tastiest food outside of Bangkok

I do like the food here & we would order quite frequently. However, we had our credit cards stolen 3 times!!! Each time the day or 2 after we had ordered from pink pepper- Once, we had used a credit card we never use, had only used to charge our delivery & boom random activity!! Seems pretty suspicious to me. The food is pretty good- but if we eat there or use delivery we pay CASH! & then there was the time the delivery guy got bizarrely agro, accused me of calling him a liar as our doorbell did not ring, only because I asked him if he rang it.

Went here for the first time with some ladies. Waited around for quite a bit before we got some service, odd considering we were the only ones there. But the waitress came out and was super nice and sweet. All the staff was very nice. I was worried for a minute because I read these reviews while I waited. We were thinking perhaps the night crew is all "whateva whateva I do what I want". But after a delicious crying tiger, awesome curry, and other things- it was legit. I liked it- and if you are worried about them taking forever for your bill... Just ask for it when the food comes out, duh.

We came here with a party of 25+ people, which meant that we took up most of the inside dining area. LOL. Upon entry, my fiance and I wondered how the ordering would be done with such a large group. The mere thought of splitting the bill made me shudder. We then learned that "family size" main dishes don't follow the norm of other Thai and Asian restaurants. Rather, the dishes only feed 1-2 people. In this case, it worked to our advantage and the hostess was willing to subtotal our order out of the larger order. As for the food, yes-- the portions are kinda small. I had an order of spicy noodles and my fiance had the lamb curry. I ordered mine "hot" and boy, they don't fool around. That dish was SPICY! The winner for the evening was the lamb curry. It's stewed leg of lamb in Mussamun Curry with pearl onions, roasted peanuts, and potatoes. My fiance jumped at ordering it since he (an avid Thai food fan) never sees lamb on an Thai menu. We were damn happy that he ordered it. The meat is tender. The sauce is like a combo of Indian curry with a hint of coconut milk. We loved the lamb curry but our other friends' dishes looked below average in comparison to many other Thai restaurants a few miles east in Thai Town. My fiance also noted that there are only 3 options in the spice tray when it's usually 4. What was apparently missing was the hot Thai chilis in fish sauce. He had to ask for it and got a teeny tiny amount served in a teeny tiny saucer. When we got the check, one of our friends noted that gratuity was automatically added to our separate orders since we were part of a party larger than 18. That's fine with us but I just wished that the hostess would've reminded us. On another note, we loved that parking was free and a-plenty.

I moved into the area about 7 months ago and ate here a few times, it was okay despite them making my order incorrectly once or twice. However, the last time I went, it was terrible. I rarely leave a negative review, but this warranted one. I ordered the Pad Woo Sen, which normally comes with several different kinds of meat, but I ordered it vegetarian. The young server furrowed her brow, shook her head & rolled her eyes. I was pretty off-put considering a lot of thai food is vegetarian, but whatever. We got our food, had a few bites, and I bit into pieces of glass. GLASS. And not just a piece, several pieces. I took it out of my mouth, put it on the table and waited for someone to catch our eye or stop by the table. And waited. And waited some more, until my boyfriend was finished with his food. Then another server finally came over and I explained what happened. She took the meal back into the kitchen, then the other server came over 5 minutes later and said "How was everything?" I couldn't help but laugh. I explained to her the glass, she gave me another brow furrow & eye roll, and asked if I wanted them to make me another one. I politely declined. She came back to the table and told me "the chef doesn't know what it is." It was quite clearly glass. Regardless, they took it off the bill but didn't offer so much as an apology... despite the fact people can die from eating broken glass. Needless to say, I will never, ever eat here again, and I strongly advise you not to either.

What a totally disappointing experience. This place came highly recommended from a friend and we looked forward to trying it. We arrived at about 10 PM. The atmosphere was nice, the hostess pleasant enough. I had a question about a food ingredient (I can't have wheat, barley, or rye), and the waitress simply said "I don't know." We asked if she could ask the cook, and she said "....no. Sorry.". I looked at her shocked, and she said "Ok, ok I'll check." Shocking to hear that she never did, right? Rude. So, so rude. When the appetizer ("Angel Wings") finally came out, it looked burned and, well, gross. My friends ate a couple bites, but couldn't bring themselves to finish it. "The worst angel wings I've ever had," they said. Our drinks were empty by this point, but no one had checked on us in quite some time. We looked over to the corner and saw the entire wait staff sitting in a booth, eating and gossiping. Lovely. The food arrived. I had a pineapple chicken mixed curry dish. Our friend had the squid salad. My boyfriend had red curry, which looked delicious. I could not taste any pineapple in my curry. I only tasted yellow curry and chicken - despite there being some visible pineapple and other vegetables in the concoction, I couldn't taste anything else at all. Our friend's squid salad was almost entirely comprised of coriander, and my boyfriend's red curry was completely flavorless. I don't think any of us bothered to finish our dishes. Then we waited some more. And waited. And waited. The wait staff were again in the corner, eating and gossiping. Irritated at this point, we waved them down and said we'd been waiting for the check. We got the "OK, give me a minute" signal from our waitress. Ten minutes later, our check came out. We gave exact change. A first for all of us.

I ordered the pineapple curry fried rice and the chicken pad Thai over the phone, for pick-up. The order was completed very quickly, and the food seemed to taste pretty good. One star mark-down was for the confusing parking and somewhat of an attitude from the front desk lady.

Hmm... I'm torn between 2 and 3 stars for this very, very average Thai restaurant. Points for being close to my house (like 2 blocks, can't go wrong with that) and also points for having a really nice wood interior with gigantic booths. But... the food was pretty meh. I'm a Thai food fanatic and what we had really just didn't satisfy my need for Jedi status, gold star, Zagat rated, cinco de mayo party in my mouth Thai food I was having. The pad thai was pretty bland, and my spicy spinach was not at all spicy. Like really, not even a little. It was a steaming clump of spinach with some chicken, mushrooms, and bit of fish sauce. Yawn. I took it home and the next day poured a bunch of red pepper flakes on it which actually made it pretty damn good, but I'll give the credit to my spice cabinet on that one, not Pink Pepper. Hmm... probably won't be back. There's MUCH better Thai food just a few blocks away at Sunset Thai... much more flavor, much more awesome.

Food is below average - bland and generally unhealthy, and service is terrible. It takes them over 40 minutes to deliver within a distance of one block away. And they would rather cancel an order of a three course meal thank take a small order -they have a minimum of either 15 or 20 USD on the credit card, and if the order comes to 14USD they would rather cancel the order. Plus they almost don't speak English. Unfortunately. It is very hard to understand them, and they don't understand what you want to order. I had to repeat five times when I called. There are plenty other choices in the area. "In person" the place is unfriendly and dirty. I read one of the reviews just now. Agreed completely. People who work there cannot clearly communicate. They cannot take orders. Easier to find another place or cook dinner at home... Which is what I ended up doing.

Had take out from Pink Pepper the other weekend. Food was hot & ready to go in only 20-30 minutes. The prices are fair and the food is flavorful (Americanized-Thai)! I'm not a huge fan of real authentic Thai food but Pink Pepper meets me in the middle.

I have been to this restaurant on two different occasions when visiting my uncle who resides in Los Angeles. Each time the food has been great. I can't really say much else as it's been a few years since I've been here, but based on what I remember it's very good! Check it out! maps.google.com/maps?f=q…

This place sucks! Not sure why there are so many good reviews...maybe they are writing way after they've gone because lately this place is HORRIBLE. First off, the girl who greets at the door and or answers the phone is SO RUDE. When I asked for something, she made it seem I have inconvenienced her. Second, I've ordered delivery/takeout on several different occasions (hey, I live nearby and believe in second chances) and we waited an hour for our food & when calling after 40 minutes (we were quoted 20), she said, "He just left." and hung up on me! Imagine our disappointment when we finally got our food, there were no eating utensils or napkins. FOR DELIVERY. Go somewhere else.

I went here at the suggestion of a friend I was visiting in the neighborhood. He had been here before and it was about 2 blocks from his place. If you're not on foot, it could seem a little tricky to find. Two things stood out about the restaurant: they had a doorman/security guard at the entrance and the hostess/greeter was so enthusiastic (I'm sorry to be so Hollywood-jaded), I felt she was really high on some party drug! The food was fine, normal to smaller portions and a typical Hollywood overpriced menu...in my opinion about 10-20%.

I love their tom kha koong soup with shrimp, it's super delicious. It's milky with the right amount of sour and spice. Their chicken pad thai, prik khing, and crying tiger is also tasty too. My bf and I drive all the way from Palms area just to eat here because it's the only decent Thai place we know. Palms Thai Restaurant is also good too, but much further than we'd like to drive. The only thing I wish Pink Pepper did is give you bigger portions. They give you "just enough" but I wish it was more. A plus is that they have free parking in the back of the restaurant which is a rarity in Hollywood. Their service is pretty good too.

We really wanted to like this place. We love Thai and this place is walking distance and has a nice little patio in front. Unfortunately, the reviews about the bad service are true. We really felt like we were a burden on our waitress and they weren't even busy. My starter, won ton soup came out, cold, after we had already finished our entree. No apology! Normally I would have sent it back and asked to have it removed from the ticket. But, and that brings us to the second point...The portions are pretty small. I was still hungry. The food is actual fairly decent. This is real Thai, as opposed to Thai made in the Chinese or Vietnamese kitchen. If the service had been better, we might have forgiven the price to portion ratio. But, we weren't finished giving this place a chance and decided to try their delivery. It was fairly standard 45 min. delivery time. The food once again passed the taste test, but it is nothing special. Poor service, poor value. We will give this place a pass.

This place use to be AMAZING! Seriously! I would go here ALL OF THE TIME! such good quality, great portions... Now, now its a piece of TRASH! If you are one of the lucky ones, youll dine in,.. because if you get the take-out, its discussing. You know when you bite into certain foods and there is like sand particles or grit? Do you like that? Well if so, feel free to order from this place. The pink pepper rolls were AMAZING 2 years ago. Now, its made with not so fresh ingredients, thrown together , and they like to tell you LIMIT 6 per customer, like they are special. WRONG The orange chicken was GREAT, until they had a chef change. All of the sudden, its soggy, and then a found a HAIR in it. You know that feeling. Completely disgusted and couldn't finish my meal. The people that run the place have no concept of patrons, all they care about is the bottom line. Wont be much of a bottom line if they keep turn out crap like this. So long pink pepper, so long.

If you live in Orange County, please don't drive here. In order to deal with LA parking and crowds and lines this place would need to at least double it's efforts. Small portions, slow service, and mediocre flavor. I wanted to call Thai Nakorn and apologize for being unfaithful.

So good, we ate here twice on vacation! We were staying at Universal, and decided to gop out for a little shopping. The hotel staff steered us to the Grove, so my friend could pick up an iPad at the Apple Store. And a Yelp search of nearby Thai places brought up the Pink Pepper. Fun name, we thought...let's give it a try. It was raining and dark...we almost missed the place. A tree blocks the sign. But we were determined and eventuially made our way in. The waitress was cheerful, and happy to offer her favorites (not what she thought we would like...the menu items she actually likes to eat). We had the Tom Kha soup, pad thai, and Panang Curry (make it spicy). We also had the appetizer sampler...just because lol. The angel wings were so good. I have no idea if that is any sort of authentic dish, but who cares! They were dreamy! We liked this place so much, we went back again yesterday on our way out of town. The area was congensted, and parking was a pain because of the holiday paprade. But having had such a good experience the night before, we endured and were rewarded once again! This time we had the spicy noodles. Not as good as the pad thai, btu with the panang curry on the side, it didn't even matter. I've recommended it to friends who head south, and I'm recommending it to you too! Loved it. Parking issue is the only thing that keeps me from giving it five starts. Don't believe the crusty guy at the self park behind who tells you parking isnt free. Pink Pepper validates for free parking. Enjoy!

I've ordered from Pink Pepper twice now (both times we had it delivered). Both times it was solidly good, but nothing amazing. The pad thai, egg rolls, and tofu delight were all pretty good but nothing special. The green curry was quite tasty, and although I'd definitely order it again, I've had better. All in all I'd say Pink Pepper is a reliable standby, but I'll keep looking until I find my go-to Thai place.

once again pink pepper has delivered in spades. i love this place. i go to lots of thai restaurants, and i don't think that any of them compare to pink pepper. the flavors are complex but also simply wonderful. you can go spicy or not, vegetarian or meat, curry or noodles. pink pepper has it all. i can't say whether it is very authentic -- all i know is that i love it -- and they have come through for me on multiple occasions. my fave dish: the chicken curry. heaven. living in the neighborhood, i went here with friends to celebrate my birthday -- they loved it. i went with family on a major holiday -- they loved it. we like to get take-out just on those nights when you're spent from the day or week and all you want is a yummy, warm meal. it's never crowded. the decor is simple and actually a bit romantic. great for a first date or just for the heck of it. i think many people don't know about it because it is a bit hidden, but very close to hollywood blvd., so it's convenient. my only worry is about that madrone condo structure across the street -- i worry that it will always be packed once people move in -- and then the secret will be out.

The food and service is good. I often go with my coworkers in a group of about 6-8 and the food comes up pretty quickly. I usually go for the Chicken Curry lunch special, with tax and tip usually comes out to about $12.

Would definitely go here again! The tom yum soup, egg rolls and the panang curry were all excellent. I wasn't a huge fan of the garlic pepper chicken but it was only because my husband's panang curry was so much better! Definitely one of the more affordable Thai restaurants in Hollywood. Free validated parking (except Sundays when the lot is closed).

I had to balance the Thai reviews with one good one. Use to work just above Pink Pepper and had no problem eating there 3 times a week. Very flavorful Thai dishes that aren't heavy and greasy. Great lunch specials during the week and a solid spot to get dinner delivered from. Food always comes hot a the order is correct. Be forewarned when getting delivery or pickup that they are not heavy handed with the soy sauce packets. 1 per dish, and in my case that just doesn't fly. Either stock up at home or make sure to request more.

This is a sad tale. Essentially, we have been extremely loyal customers of Pink Pepper for over 2 years. They are notoriously bad at being on time, even though we only live 11 blocks away, but we were willing to bypass that because their food was pretty good and we like to support local restaurants in our neighborhood. However, after the experience we just had with them, they are OFF the list forever. We ordered 2 meals online at 8pm, got a "confirmed order" page, and a confirmation email. Two hours later, still no food. We call them to inquire, they say they have no information about our order, and keep putting us on hold for long stretches of time - 5 to 8 minutes each time. Finally, we would have to hang up and call back (we were calling on 2 cell phones by this point, and they would always answer the call that wasn't already on hold, just would never come back on the line for the call in session). Finally, they said they would bring our order within an hour - ARE YOU KIDDING ME - it would be 11pm by then. At that point, we said, OK, we are disappointed with how you are treating loyal customers, and not even making an effort to bring us our food more quickly even though you are right down the street and at fault for losing our order, but please tell us you will discount it, or give us one meal free or SOMETHING for our trouble and having to eat so late. But no, they basically acted like it was our fault that they never got our order that they confirmed twice, and they were really "busy" that night (Wednesday at 10:30 pm by now, whatever, total lie). I'm mostly disappointed that they didn't care one bit that we have been supporting them with $40-$70 orders EVERY WEEK. for several YEARS. Anyway, their food was OK, not great, and now their customer service is complete crap, so FORGET IT! Don't order if you are hungry, they take forever, and sometimes forget your food and don't care.

I LOVE this place. Sometimes I dine in but mostly I do take out. At this point I've been there enough that they know me. Food is AMAZING. Usually get the Tom Ka Gai, Pink Pepper Rolls, and Cashew Nut with Chicken. Sometimes I branch out and get the curry salmon which is awesome. If doing take out they are always ready within 15 minutes which is great!

OK, I've had a lot of Thai food in recent years, its become one of my favorite cuisines.. and considering most good thai food comes from the hole in the wall type of restaurants, I was very skeptical about this place since is a bit more trendy. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the taste of the dishes had a bit of a twist from typical menu items. I couldn't figure out why, but I truly believe that quality of ingredients has a lot to do with it. The vegetables were obviously very fresh and the chunks of chicken in the curry and noodle dishes were good breast meat, unlike some of the more questionable types at other places. The currys are really a highlight here.

My friend and I recently wanted to try a new restaurant in her neck of the woods and we surfed the web and both came up with Pink Pepper. It is a thai restaurant kind of hidden away on La Brea between Hawthorne and Hollywood Blvd. The ambience was nice, the service was great, and the best part was the prices were totally reasonable. For Lunch I had the papaya salad and the tom yum goong soup. Both were delicious. The papaya salad is probably the best papaya salad I've had from a thai restaurant since moving to L.A. The Tom Yum Goong was among the best with just the right amount of spiciness and sourness. I liked it some much I came back for dinner. I had the red curry with duck and a beef and onions dish. The curry was fabulous! We also had great service. I'm surprised they weren't busy. I will definitely come back again.

Nestled between a muscle building factory and an hipster hollywood club is Pink Pepper. Thai. Yum. I've been frequenting this place for about 4 years now. I work just down the street, so its a nice little walk during the lunch hour. When I first was introduced to Pink Pepper, the restaurant was just a little whole in the wall type establishment. Everday tables and chairs, the kind you find in office kitchens or food courts. Standard florescent lights on the ceiling. Plain white dishes from whatever supply wharehouse. And what would any Hollywood restaraunt be without its wall of headshots? Pnk Pepper had that, too. Then, one day, it changed. It became very 'cool'. The overall theme of the place was transformed into hip. Antique wood doors greet you at the entrance. Carved wood thoughout the space. Modern art on the walls. Very elegant tables, booths and chairs were moved in. The white, circular dishes were tossed for an array of geometric shaped plates, bowls and serving trays. Luckily, the food remained intact. From day one, I have always enjoyed the Pad Thai w/ tofu, the Pineapple Paradise Curry and the Chicken Noodle. Other noteables are the Chicken Larb, Thai BBQ Beef Ribs and Teriyaki Salmon. The prices for lunch are fair (Lunch specials around $7-10), so going 2 or 3 times a week didn't hurt the wallet too badly. They deliver, too, which made having Pink Pepper 5 or 6 times a month a common practice. Needless to say, I never get tired of their food. I don't go as often as I had 'back in the day'. I've been venturing out and new places have sprung up with the renovation of Hollywood. But, Pink Pepper is definitely a reliable source of good food, even if its face has changed over time. BTW, the headshots still are on the wall. KCRW-ers: your card is not accepted here.

This is my favorite restaurant in L.A., in all styles and all price levels. The prices are right, and the food is to die for. The "Tiger Steak", one of the most expensive item on the menu, is my favorite. It's a sliced grilled rib eye steack that comes with a little cup of sauce. The sauce will explode in your mouth like fireworks of pepper, chili, vinegar and all sorts of other flavors and tingly sensations. I also recommend the duck, pineapple paradise, and pineapple fried rice. Oh and their Apple Martinis are really good too!

I have been both a delivery customer and eat in customer of pink pepper for the last 4 years, and it is my go to place for good Thai delivery! - I highly recommend the Thai BBQ chicken, best Thai BBQ chx I have had in Hollywood. I also recommend the pineapple friend rice, good stuff! The place use to be a little old looking, but they completely remodeled the place about a year and 1/2 ago, and now have a great outside courtyard where you can eat and enjoy the nice LA weather. Dress is casual, so you can feel comfortable rolling in in a pair of flip flops and shorts!

I used to work across the Street so Pink Pepper was a regular take out, delivery joint. I now sometimes order in from this place and here are some issues I have encountered: 1) I told the person that my apartment intercom was not working so I needed the delivery dude to call my cell phone so I could come outside and pick up the food from him. Well, the food did arrive, but I was also taking out my trash at the time and "accidentally" bumped into the driver when he was still trying to work the intercom system. Naturally, I did NOT tip him as he delivered the food but not the service I requested. He then (no joke) came up knocking to my apartment door asking me why I didnt tip him, and he got so aggressive that I felt I wanted to call the cops. He left my building and slammed the front, gated door, cursing and swearing. 2) I have been ordering from them quite a while, and a few times when I have called, the person answering barely speaks english and is barely comprehensible when he speaks to you. I had ordered food and he was not even enthusiastic about taking my payment info (I wanted to pay with CC), and just hung up on me. I called back and he told me that the order was already placed and that there was nothing he could do about it. So, yet again, I didnt tip the person delivering the food. The only reason WHY I order food from them is their dynamite wings and they make them superhot, just like I like them. But their service LACKS BIG TIME.

I ordered from there and they said 35 minutes. After an hour I called and they said it was coming. An hour and a half later we had still not gotten our food because they said they were busy, even though they told us it would be only 35 minutes, and again they said I just had to wait. I told them I was upset and asked what they could do, offer a discount, something - and they said "no". When I asked to speak with their manager they said "no". Needless to say i cancelled my order and will never order from there again. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS PLACE - THEY LIE ABOUT THE DELIVERY TIME AND THE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS TERRIBLE.

I love Thai food, and have tried a lot of Thai restaurants since I moved here. Pink Pepper is my favorite. One of the main reasons is that they offer fruit curry on their menu, which I have had a hard time finding here. The food overall is fantastic, although I felt like there was a little bit of flavor missing in the pineapple curry. But then I ordered their green curry, and just asked them to throw in some pineapple and it was perfect. Their spicey wontons are also ridiculous! So, so yummy. The ambiance is fantastic. Very small, intimate, and romantic and still giving you the feeling of privacy. Their patio dining is very cool, too, sort of an outdoor/indoor vibe out there. I love the free parking, warm, friendly and laid-back servers, and overall great feel and vibe of this place. Prices are very reasonable. We couldn't believe that two people could eat dinner out for $25.00. I do wish they offered a full bar, though, which is why I didn't give it the full five stars.

For the most part, the best Thai restaurant I've been to in LA, and I've tried a lot. They have brown rice, white meat (for the chicken) and the food is cooked with relatively little oil, which makes it healthy. Everything is delicious, particularly the panang curries and "cashew nut roasted chili" chicken. The soups could be a bit better.

Greeeeaaaat food. I almost gave them 5 stars. If there were more people in the staff, the service would be much better. The supreme duck (or duck supreme) is perfect.
